  1. It's a burr. They aren't common that size on ash, I only know of one, similar size too
  2. It could well be Merip, likely even. Hard to give the tree a fate based on this much info though...
  3. Wow that's a poor image! I'd suggest if it's an old fruitbody then merip wouldn't be white still, couldn't say what it is from that pic though. Sorry...
  4. No effect really. No need to remove them even, just cut a wedge like a piece of cake from them.
  5. Or get a level 6 qualification in law, or something else which will pay back the many hours and thousands of pounds spent getting it!
  6. They are generally pretty easy, but there's the travel time, and write up too, people generally want them done yesterday so it might mean rearranging an existing job to fit it in. Then you are opening yourself to liability if anything happens in the near future. But really you're paying for knowledge and experience over time. They're a bit like small back garden tree work, fit two or three in a day and you've done well. But they seem to be few and far between. That said, 20 mins, was there only one tree?!
  7. Seconded. Could be panic fruiting, one old dead larger one, followed by lots of small struggling ones. Shot of the tree in context?
  8. 5.4! Seriously let down by no accompanying social media sites links, and w3-something or other compatibility. Whatever that is...
  9. 5 days, 52 weeks a year. Minus the 21 days paid holiday an average employee gets. Minus a further 5 for paperwork and cancellations etc. Total of 234 working days. 234 x 100 = £23,400 I was on very nearly that as an employee as a climber when I left to go it alone 4yrs ago. Then take away fuel, equipment, repair/maintenance costs, loler, ppe, insurance if doing own jobs, advertising, tool insurance, tax & ni, pension, personal injury/life insurance and so on - doesn't leave a great deal... Charge what you're worth people!
  10. That'll be me then... Although I was never 100% convinced
  11. Oh no, the truth must come out! I thought it was a good photo, but I don't want to live a lie...
  12. I'm an ale man Jon, sorry!
  13. Cheers. The handle seems chunky but is actually very comfortable to hold, just the right size...
  14. Wasn't there a thread on this very a year or three ago?
  15. Six Feet Under is an old one but good, as is Twin Peaks (early 90's I think, and just started another after 25 odd year break), very trippy but excellent. Dexter is my fave from recent years, and the first couple of Misfits series were good too.
  16. Bit odd to drink from, chunky edge with a bit of 'drag' on the lip compared to glass. Imparts a slight, but pleasant oakey flavour. Sort of thing I imagine will improve over time. 6% homebrewed honey stout goes down a treat in it!
  17. Fifth, wooden anniversary present. I'm a happy bunny
  18. If it goes, remember this post! Millity mill mill...
  19. Some type of bleeding canker?
