  1. This picture has just been taken by my son, who is working in Qingdao, China. 25C and thunder storms!
  2. I have just found these technical details http://www.tractel.com/files/131711277113317.pdf Martyn
  3. Yes that's correct, also there wasn't a drum attachment for T516. Remembering the technical details it had a SWL lift 1600kg or a pull of 2500kg. The best machine was the T30 or T35, capacity of 5000kg lift. It didn't have any shear pins so you could abuse it with no affect to the machine! It was originally used by the Coal Board so there used to a few second hands floating about. One had an cast aluminium outer case and one a steel case, can't remember which model number the steel or aluminium was. Martyn
  4. The TU16 was the original model that has been around for at least 40 years, and the drum on the side was a optional extra. Tirfor then brought out the T508,516 and the 532 when the patent run out, because the Chinese started to copy them. The TU range was regarded as better quality, with the only drawback was that 3 shear pins broke if you overloaded it, against 1 on the T516. Sounds like a good buy with the drum and rope included Martyn
  5. Looks very interesting obviously more work for the hard working Loler inspector, testing both gates, but I can see its uses. Karabiner or Carabiner I have always spelt it with a K is this Americanising of our English again! Martyn
  6. Hi all Just to add to the debate I charge £65+VAT per kit usually plus a bit of traveling time from Guildford. But most of my Loler's are on a day rate, which is between £300 to £350 per day. This can be a lot of kits! I did this lot a few Sunday's ago,16 kits but some didn't have much in-them. Martyn
  7. iPhone 90% of the time, but occasionally my ageing Apple Mac after I finished typing my LOLER reports.
  8. Hi Everyone Just to let you all know, I have changed my phone number to 07760 692984 my email address is still the same, [email protected] but I have also due to my iphone [email protected]. I am still carrying out LOLER's in London and the South east, so if you a LOLER Inspection give us a call or drop me an email. Martyn Honey
