  1. Don't like to use any, but Booths is the way forward!
  2. If you just want to driver around the world you wont go far wrong with a Toyota Hiace van - unless you want to offroad on the way.
  3. Why? Never heard of anyone making arrows from Yew. The king is Port Orford Cedar. However ash, Douglas fir, Maples and sweet chestnut are good too. Ash was the medieval choice according to RH.
  4. It's ok as long as you can afford it. Otherwise have you looked at a driving job (can you drive atm?)? Can be good money apparently driving little vans for pharmacies etc. a mate of mine does it while at uni and they are quite a good employer apparently.
  5. Some serious history to go with it matey. All sorts of fun things have happened under that tree apparently, weddings, duels and a murderer was caught hiding in it.* This chestnut is in the same churchyard. *According to the woman in the village who knows everything about everything, but is generally about right - welcome to Cumbria!
  6. Cheers, I've been on the Log Home association one already. It's got some corkers on. It's something I'm seriously thinking about for the future - either one of these Scandinavian type timber frame/birch clad jobs or a full timber abode in the woods. It's relatively cheap, very cool, and would be built just how I fancy it. Another option is this, a bit quicker than timber and cheaper too Modern self build house kits from Hebridean Contemporary Hom
  7. Pollard sir? Certainly sir. Not as big as some, but not small! Cartmel Priory, South Lakes.
  8. Cheers fella. I fancy building one at some point, a nice big timber shed would be nice as well. However this is for a college dissertation job I'm doing about possible diversification - so I need an idea of costs, time etc.
  9. Liking those rock sliders matey, how much for a set?
  10. Brilliant! Don't know how I haven't come across them already as I've been on Google all morning!
  11. Sorry to here that Try and find as many useful courses (especially free ones) and get on them, you can learn with one arm even if you cant work and you don't know what doors it will open for you.
  12. Anyone reccomend a good maker of the above? Not the static caravan types but the proper jobbies Cheers
  13. Friend just shared this on facebook! School meal shockers: Croquettes, an ice lolly, cucumber... lunch for pupils as captured by girl, 9 | Mail Online Everyone is talking about your little lass!
  14. Hire a telehandler from A Plant or similar
  15. The women shouldn't be allowed out of the kitchen. Boats are for men.
  16. Toooonnnnnyyyyyy answer my question! I still don't know what you want (but I think I'm agreeing with you...)
  17. To be brutally honest John it doesn't surprise me. If you get a custom knife most people will never sell them - you get it made in a lot of cases exactly to your specs, it's an individual item completely custom. I think your best getting in touch with Ben Orford, Bernie G etc. and getting one done just how you want it. You'll never buy another knife again if you get it right! Also look at Roger here http://www.bisonbushcraft.co.uk/page10/page10.html The SWC Ray Mears job above that Nick has for sale looks a lovely knife though, I'd seriously look at that if I was in the market - and being RM branded it will always hold its value. I have a swingblade for stalking, cracking idea/invention!
  18. Telehandlers are the tits. They are so usefull, and much more adaptable than a forklift and will go into a lot more places!
  19. 'Fraid I don't Tone Do you mean like a A-Team of the arb world? Turning up, working for free to do surveys and protect the trees? (I'm not getting at you, just confused, it doesn't take much)
  20. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPU8V-nvUEk&feature=BFa&list=HL1336510189]Ben Howard covers Call Me Maybe in the Live Lounge - YouTube[/ame]
  21. Jesus H Christ. Anyone else wonder if the townies making it have ever seen what they can do to a lambing field or a chicken shed? The good new's is big Charlie Jacoby is on it soon, so if they don't edit out everything he says we might get some balance across!
  22. Ditto. I was always a packed lunch kid I think, but it was a while ago. Impressive someone that age can have the nouse to start a blogg about it!
  23. I would think you can probbly get about £50 less than list priice withot a problem, maybe more as I know the Alan Wood versions go for as much/more than on RM's website!
  24. Well let me know if your getting rid of your safe - i need another one!
  25. Is that an Alan Wood or Stephen Wade Cox?
