  1. Rich is right its all todo with how you tie the v.t you have to tie the correct variation otherwise it will twist.
  2. Ok. The reason I favour the lockjack is because you can pull slack out of the top also I find it locks off better than the sj.the sj is great for finer control but once your cam wears in and you get used to the lj it becomes the same. Another positive of the lj is that when you need a little more line in a tight situation you can yank the toggle which automatically gives you a little more slack with sj you can't do this. Also with the sj I have caught the lever a couple of times which has lead to me dropping. Don't get me wrong the sj is superb, and finer at slack tending but for a all round package the lj in my eyes is easier to work with.if I was in a big open crown I would favour the sj, But I don't often come across trees that suit it. maybe if I was in gums everyday then it would be the right tool.
  3. Paul consider the lj aswell if I was you I'd try them both before you buy. Plus the lj works a lot better with a sling as a bridge so you can pull from underneath. The sj has a habit of not locking off.
  4. Over the last 2 weeks I haven't used it once.you want to borrow it?
  5. There is always one lol. Ok so what did you not like about the sj?

Conifers always get ya, got me in the leg once luckily my trousers done there job they are worth every penny.
  7. Thought I would start a thread comparing these two fine products, I have both of them and always favoured the sj until recently I have been using the lj and I think the lj is a better tool I find the sj is great for rec climbs but in a work situation I think the lj wins. Please share your views on them both negatives and positives.
  8. To set the knot You would still have to hold your weight with one arm and this is what he struggles with. I'd stick with the foot pantin it's the best solution for ascending.

  16. Dammit I just got one without the swivel as I didn't think it would make much of a difference as I thought the rope would twist anyway.
  17. Well all the old style snap locks on flip lines are 2 way, never had any problems with them, I don't see why they have gone 3 way.
  18. Do you think it would be better if they ditched the 3 way and done 2 way? I just got one and I'm thinking of cutting of the little metal thing you have to press first so it's 2 way.
  19. Anyone using one? What's your views on it. Do you find the 3 way action a pain in the back side?
