  1. Sitting here in awe of your thought processes Mr C. What made you think of the screws? but a little bit I think OM's queery is well raised and your explaination justified and clear. Really like the honesty amongst you frontiersmen. I'd be more concerned with the profanity spewing forth @ 3.58 on the last vid. You really need to think more of your audience next time and raise the volume a few notches. I could barely hear you. LOL, we've all journeyed to that point before. Most excellent visuals, it just gets better and better.
  2. Bought this Silver Bull, 18 months ago. It's the best purpose made, waterproof kit bag that I have found. Alternatively this looks quite interesting. http://www.abbeypro.co.uk/ropes-accessories/rope-bags/showitem-WL-07185.aspx
  3. If we go for the spading, then I'll post some pictures of the condition of the roots. Keep it tuned. .
  4. Hello treedude, looks fun. What did you anchor into? .
  5. Glad to hear you're going to get things sorted. I'm sure you'll be in all our thoughts. Hurry back soon. Will be giving you a call on the morrow with an order for boots, trousers, lid and the big shot. All the best to ya. Suppose the user name will have to change to "Bionicjust"
  6. Lee, I found out today that your coming down to our sister site on Monday (30th), If you've got the time, i've got a Fagus with Meripulus on, that I would like you to have a look at as your in the area. (Couple of miles away) Discussion on air spading butresses. and/or alternatives. Give me a call. David 077757 03017 [email protected]
  7. Very intersted to hear what your moth expert has to say about the one in the last photo. Forest research were stumped. If you get a positive id, post back the result here. David .
  8. Why Not. A bit more planning on choice of machine would be prudent. . .
  9. Any Veterans, specialy when you get that doubt in your mind, that the reduction and/or retrenchment work you're doing to help stabilise the tree for it's or the public's benefit, might just throw the tree over the edge and send it reeling towards it's early demise. Practicaly speaking, it's Robinia or Elm. .
  10. The embarrassing grin @ 1.11 says it all. Get a hobby or Wife, Mr Hill. .
  11. Very nice picture set. You look comfortable. .
  12. Just had a butchers myself. Check out the old boy @ 27 min, good on ya Mr K Pretty cool place to make a toast, 100ft up a castaneifolia .
  13. Got my vote. A well considered and honourable choice for public expenditure. Been aware of it for awhile, but as yet have not got off me arse to visit. Thanks for bringing it back onto me radar, deer man. .
  14. Is this due to the historical way of removing all arrisings, trunk and all, from hazardous trees, or is it current policy? Thanks again for your feedback. .
  15. More Red Data book species into the fire of extinction more like. .
  16. Your assurance goes without saying Mr B .
  17. Thanks for feedingback KGmyrek. I aways like to hear the whole story. Out of interest, do the Parks departments where you are in Poland, consider leaving dead monitored tree trunks, standing for habitat ? .
  18. Like the second shot, where you've cunningly tried to fool us into thinking the free falling section is caught on the wire. Obviously, someones very keen to save the old girl, hence your fine work, so is it worth considering Root issues (Lee?) .
  19. Like your take on this Mark. Obviously you have to take each tree on merit, but I feel far too many trees are overcautiously felled. Nice quote by the way. Ftr; looks to me like a fell in this paricular case is the sensible way to go
  20. Welcome to the site Mr JD, all the best in your new venture. Happy Choppy Chippy Times. .
  21. And the Cricket.......the list is endless
  22. think you can add Lehman to that clown list. .
  23. Great picture Hope there wasn't anyone inside .
  24. Lipsmackalicious Chris, particularly the liqiud desert part. .
  25. Steve, were there any brackets still attached? If so, how many and at what height were they? Great pics by the way. Too rarely get to see photos on the extent of particular types of decay. .
