  1. Hey all, im currently working for a local authority on the parks dept but with the new year im after a full time arborist role. Iv been climbing part time for just over 12 months and have worked with trees for much longer and i want to further my skills and experience. Iv got NPTC 30,31,38,39 Lantra mewp cert, tele handler cert, PA1,6 NVQ I,II,III Amenity Horticulture. I've worked for 12 years in the grounds maintenance industry working from trainee thru to Op's manager - Head Groundsman at a national theme park so ive got quite a varied knowledge and skill base but i want to have a career within the arboricultural trade.... I know its not the best time to look for work but someone out there must know of a lead i can follow....??? I would consider sub contracting..... any leads would be much appreciated... Nathan
  2. think ive really started a peg frenzy here with my pictures.... i see your point about slipping or miss placing a gaff and the possibilty of hurting myself but thats what learning is all about... iv only been climbing a few months so all your points will be taken on aboard and once the confidence and stamina has built up i'll lose all the pegs but for now think i'll leave a few if nothin but a little bit of light foot relief...
  3. ive got that book.... a very interesting read with loads of info and tips also some very nice trees in it there too...

  10. Hey all this is my first thread so be gentle.... iv recently set up on my with my cousin and were lookin at buyin in a chipper as weve been hiring TW125 but find were pricing ourselves too high after weve covered ins/running costs etc and a small wage which were putting straight back in purchasing new kit and advertising. Weve just won our first largish job and were going to be looking at purchasing a chipper. Were lookin at spending around 5k ish for a 6in around 750kg as i have a post 97 licence. Theres a Daneuip bulechip at a dealer ive seen just in our budget does anyone use one and are they a decent machine..? or would you recomend another machine..?
  11. im sure iv seen that pic in the Buxtons catolgue...
