  4. I use this knot on my climbing line. It is solid, and never moves. It is also really quick to tie.
  5. My sequoia hurts my legs a bit when hanging full weight in it. But i am used to it now. I like the way the leg loops sit quite low away from the family jewels! best harness ive had. theside tool strops are a bit weak though.
  6. Nice one dadio. I know how dangerous it is topping trees in close proximity to other trees. with possible hang ups and awkward limbs falling to the floor, I don't blame you for making it safer and easier.
  7. i do a half hitch before the krab on the piece im lowering, rope takes the shock not the knot or krab.. did you do this?
  8. from my experience, i come across alot of people who have fallen into this profession as its an easy option or only option. do a weeks course and your a tree surgeon, they then want top money for all these tickets they have. some turn out ok and earn their money, others dont but carry on cause they have no other option. i know guys who love trees and climbing and hard work, and guys who dont care about nothing but money, they should not be in this profession imo. As for people who do work for cash its the only way to survive?? right!
  9. I like it when he shouts YEAH!! when the tree hits the deck. I need to do that more often.
  10. Hi, not sure about the standards but I am pretty sure it will need and should be examined by a LOLER (lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations) inspector. They would about know all the standers needed.
  11. Gutted. Another great guitarist dies early. Guitars should carry a health warning. His music will be around forever.
  12. read this once....."we are here as a mechanism of this planets evolution like the spin of a washing machine cycle. the earth has a cycle with a biginning and an end. we are here to "just be humans". industrialise and create physical changes in the planet to facilititate the end. every planet in our solar system is in a different phase of the same cycle"....makes sense in a strange way!!!!
  13. Alright Ben are you using the husqy topper now? is it any good? I'm trying out the hitch climber at the mo, seems to be good, just wondered what you thought.

  19. i've been doing this a while now, obviously i,ve done many heroic things im very proud of. but un fortunately, as our proffesion dictates, ive also had a few gaffs in my time.. heres a few i can think of off the top of my head. 1, cut a branch off, bounced tip end when hit the ground and butt punched through some ones bedroom window! 2.had my hard hat chipped when left in chipper (dont put it there anymore) 3.broke my foot when a large ring of oak was dropped on it, ouch. 4.went to fell a lombardy in a cemetery, it went wrong way and landed on a load of graves..the day before mothers day..(i know, thats bad) thats just a few but i have to say i've learnt my lesson and am not such an oaf.
  20. I work on a lot of council estates, people always let their dogs out when we're working. trying to intimidate us with their status dogs. on the plus side we are pretty will protected if one decided to attack!
