  1. Try chipping with realy worn anvil(s) or rollers, the effect is just as bad as dull blades?
  2. In 15 years of using and training people on chippers, you may find the anvil, and rollers are just as important as sharp blades!
  3. Very similar, but you get these custom fit at specsavers, tell them what yuo want them for and hey presto! around £130 though
  4. I have had scaffold cup locks, steel bar, ballast through a 19-28 (on hire, not me!!) and never any serious damage, the flywheel is sold, not like the t/w and the paddles are much thicker than the jensen machines, prob not a great deal of damage
  5. We found fitting 'chipper muffs' helped the problem, was side impact injury a massive problem? ie. will these new helmets make a difference or are they just another cash cow?
  6. Im just in the process of deciding whether to go and get some custom fit with a filter in them, you can talk normaly, then when the fun starts, they shut down (alledgedly!)
  7. That really depends on whether you use decent plugs? there are some very good moulded ones available.
  8. A Newcastle based HSE officer, is in the process of assessing the 'climbing stlye' helmets after numerous complaints regarding the efficiency of the eaf defenders. The problem is due to the webbing strap not allowing the cuffs to seal against the cheak bone and allowing vibrations/noise to travel to the ear. Anyone else had an issue with these? (the above is fact - He was in my office discussing this earlier in the year)
  9. Anti biotics sort it out in the end! or sort the end out? sumit like that!
  10. Its the sea water they put in the lager
  11. Run off, wood soaks moisture. Its on page 17, so it must be true!
  12. quote 'are made of non-conducting material, such as wood or pvc'
  13. Well that was my understanding when I did my AE units, that was a few years ago, so things might have changed re: ohms law and conductivity?
  14. Just read 'Moving the goal posts' in May issue of Forestry Journal, According to Hugh Jones they are erecting goal posts to mark overhead conductors (good idea) but he rekons they are using wood as one of the materials as it is NON conducting? any comments?? is wood not porous?
  15. Try using rayco finger teeth on the machine, the tungsten tip is the same size, and they are less than £3 each. The only down side is, if changing from super teeth you need to buy pocket the first time £7 each.
  16. I have used the Greenmech 13-23 22hp petrol and it's a great machine for the money
  17. Some marvelous pic's there!
  18. I know what content I would include, but would like some opinions as to what people like to see, what keeps them interested etc, personaly I hate the flash, multi coloured ones.
  19. With those symptoms, only if the settings have gone slightly off. The valve with the solenoid coil, occasionaly packs in, this causes that to happen, check the wires for high resistance joints, or try to scrounge a valve off another machine to try.
  20. Could be the spool valve (high chance), auto stress just too low?
  21. Hi, Im not sure if this is the right place for this post, but its sort of about training!? Im having a web site made, what things would people like to see? What kind of content, detail, bonny pics etc.......
