  1. Yep, lads around Stoke would break into MOT stations just to nick the MOT book, if they could get the tools away that was a bonus for them! Seems like a lifetime ago.
  2. It's one of them Doug, when I was in East Anglia, my mate Slippery Jim could get most motors passed if they weren't to far out. Lots of these cheap end motors have money in them if you can fix the dash warning lights.
  3. I'm by no strength a used car dealer and never want to be, I can see where there is money to be made in them mind, dashboard warning lights that are MOT failures put the vast majority off buyers of. Most are easily fixed with a test meter and a bit of thinking.
  4. Nothing to do with sidelines then.
  5. You can tell the sun is out, it's got to him. Who mentioned Arb kit?
  6. Does that all depend on where you are at? As said, my mate just bought and sold a bike, the dealer offered him £3950 to px his old bike, he sold it privately for £5000 then had a better deal paying upfront from the dealer on the new bike.
  7. Meanwhile, back in the real world.
  8. Perhaps for some, I'll not worry about it.
  9. I think the biggest thing he missed is the title of the thread, Sidelines! All of a sudden he's telling me about being in the motor trade, tax, vat, warranties, etc. Ya know all those things that have got nothing to do with sidelines.
  10. You're not the only one, my mate just got a new bike, when he sold his old one he was dreading it. He advertised it for £5200 wanting £5000, bloke came, looked at it and bid him £4800, I stood behind the bloke shaking my head, in the end he got the £5000 for it. He said to me after the bloke had gone he'd have taken the £4800 if it wasn't for me shaking my head.
  11. Who do these two clowns think they are kidding - Truss campaigned tirelessly to remain. Nadine Dorries and Jacob Rees-Mogg back Liz Truss for Conservative leadership NEWS.SKY.COM The lines are beginning to be drawn in the the Tory leadership contest, with others revealing who they will support in the...
  12. Your reply to his £5500 should have been NO, then say nothing more.
  13. If you are going to use plastic rods lockfast are the best, I use 8mm steelkane rods.
  14. Is this most bizarre question ever asked on a thread about sidelines.
  15. I guess it's how you look at it, both have bought cheap motors, tarted them up and moved them on at a profit.
  16. Soft lad.
  17. I often wonder if I'm in the wrong trade. I bought this on a whim last Friday from a local lad who's used it to commute to Manchester for the last 14 months, (60 mile round journey). It had a few niggles, but nothing to write home about, main beam lamp, side light lamp and airbag-cushion warning light on, sorted those and gave it a good look over, there is some play in the steering rack but it's negligible. Paid £450 for it, flipped it today for £800. Two of those a week would do me.
  18. I don't know mate, I drove past that barn me and you built in 2010 recently. Still looks in good condition.
  19. Was this to do with the building of a factory near his house in Stukley, Cambridgeshire?
  20. This is indeed ironic.
  21. Where in Cheshire is this?
  22. All the local fuel stations are stuck on £199.9 for diesel, Asda Newcastle-u-Lyme was £195.7 yesterday. I was so elated I nearly got me fags out.
  23. iOS 15.5 Upto date, don't know how to check the browser, will have a look now
  24. I haven't but it's the same on my phone.
  25. Steve Bullman, yes also I can't tag anyone since the latest update.
