  1. Send it to me shavey and I will pass it on!!....I bet you've heard that before: Nice one for putting a few quid into a good cause.
  2. There are some pics on silkys thread! But I'll be fecked if I can copy and paste on this iPad.
  3. There was a thread (that I can't) find with it in.
  4. One or two if not more said we would donate a few quid to the children's trust if Jon (mendi-plogs) wore a German helmet and a pink pacamac to the Arb show. Ok we could not get the pink pacamac on time but we did get the German helmet. And Jon wore it until he lost it:laugh1:So I think those who said we would throw a few quid in should. I'll put my few quid in tomorrow.
  5. It's not just a forum for arborists any more! It's a forum for all sort of folk. And better for it IMO. Anyone that takes anything off an open forum as gospel is foolish!
  6. Sonia is Mrs Mendi-plogs. She would have to be nuts to put up with him:lol:
  7. Only drink the cider when I'm about with me old mucker! Guinness is my normal drink And I had to revert back to it last night:biggrin: Them West Country boys don't know about Oatcakes! They are only for the more elite among us Mr Bell:lol:
  8. Just like to give a big thanks to me old mucker Mendi-plogs. Sonia and Jon have looked after me all weekend. Picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. Given me a bed to sleep in and fed me well. And more cizzer than I could cope with . Apart from paying £25 for two breakfasts in Bath this morning we had a cracking weekend. Nice one Jon
  9. You can keep ya car booting me old mucker. Get ya self back we got to get to the pub:lol:
  10. Mrs egg thinks you're in the check shirt......
  11. This is the same in most industries. I was trained and refreshed beyond believe when I worked for the local water company. Even though I had many years in the job. Yet i could get a new starter that was sent off for training and come back a few weeks later to be my "Top Man". Which is the bloke who gets me out of the hole if it goes pair shaped, similar to you lads getting out of the tree if it goes wrong. Nowt beats experience in my eyes.....but I would not like to explain that to the courts if something went wrong.i
  12. I ain't got a clue what your on about Jon:001_tt2:. But you make me laugh me old mucker. See ya Friday evening:biggrin:
  13. I'd have to sell me body for that sort of money Jon!
  14. See ya Friday evening mucker. Got to do the scrap run tomorrow afternoon so I can afford the board and lodgings when I get there:001_rolleyes:
  15. Getting there Jon. You have such an eloquent (sp) way of putting things me old mucker:lol:
  16. I think you are bang on the money Ben. When I was paying the farm manager cash to rent the yard/barn I could make it pay.....But the land agent had to get involved and he wanted top dollar for the barn/yard, which is fair enough but the place was hard(is) to access and not the most secure (I got done over when I was there). That yard still stands empty today!
  17. Got the all clear on the blood tests yesterday. The first set of tests came back as inconclusive! The quack said I needed to take things easy before the second blood sample. So I did nothing the weekend before last and had the last blood test on the Monday. This is what the quack called a deep seated infection. But nothing more to worry about. A great weight off my shoulders.
  18. It's not right that anybody should cross your land (without permission) or take anything that belongs to you. Can you clarify if you have got your scrap laying in the river? You say that you own this part of the river. Is this correct ? I'm no expert but I'd say the river doesn't do well with metal laying in it, the impact of any metal corroding is cumulative on any of the wildlife, and in fact illegal. The river "land" is owned by the landowners but as a resource it belongs to us all and we pay through the nose to have it kept free of such contamination through funding of the environment agency as the regulator and also in the charges we pay for our water bills.
  19. I didn't know how to use a computer 7 years ago:blushing: And I ain't a lot better now:lol:
  20. It did the job well when we were down there!
  21. When I last bought in hardwood cord at £45 a ton delivered (90% processor friendly) I could not make it pay (a good rate/return). After processing, running the tractor, paying rent on the yard/barn it was not worth the effort.
  22. It could have been Pat Ferret! Both very shrewd men.
