  1. Scotland has also, some of the French Aires I've parked on are not only cheap, some even free are second to none. Most of Europe are way ahead of the UK, they welcome people spending in the local economy.
  2. Tonight I arranged to park up with a mate of mine who a haven't seen for a while, plan was, park up in the carpark of the heritage railway go to the local pub for some food and a few beers then back to the vans and move on in the morning, get there and there's three motorhomes parked in the carpark with the residents (read fecking idiots) blasting out music, luckily my friend is a regular at the pub so we've parked on their carpark, are these people wired up properly? They'll no doubt be on social media tomorrow saying how unfair it is we are always getting moved on. Ranting and dumbfounded.
  3. First night this year the temperature has risen after sunset, global warming, or...
  4. Sneaked one over me again! I understand mate, I do like to repair, reuse, but it becomes uneconomical at times.
  5. I was jesting, it makes no sense to have a new sole put on, and the other bits, gluing, stitching done, by time they are done I'll be a oner+ light, I can have a box fresh pair for £160.
  6. OK, I'll get some new boots then.
  7. Best part of a oner! Brand spanking new pair for £160, how's that work? So the leather upper is less than the sole? Explain that to Mr...
  8. Feck my old boots! I've got an excellent pair of hiking boots that are 5+ years old, they need resoling, but not at a cost of £75, am I that far out of touch?
  9. Rick Buckler, drummer of The Jam, arguably one of the best punk/mod bands of all time.
  10. It certainly is.
  11. I guess some at the RSPB would get stressed, the lads who run this sites are sound, including the site manager and head ranger, never give me any hassle, in fact they give me 24/7 access to water, toilets, I've even run an extension lead to their workshop when my solar controller failed.
  12. It doesn't bother me but it's a no through road, one way in, one.way out. This work is being done on behalf of the RSPB, not the brightest thing to do on a weekend when the place is full of dog walkers.
  13. Feck that lads, park the trucks across the lane and drop it...
  14. Do you know Dom Kiddy? He's always on the lookout for round wood.
  15. That looks fair warn.
  16. Fair point, it does wear on bends mainly. Makes you wonder how much poly is entering our waters.
  17. I'm no expert but if it does have a half inch wall I doubt it would do your chipper much good.
  18. It's not much use if its being replaced, the pellets traveling through it at high speed wear it very thin. I'm staggered that it's got a half inch wall, schedule 80 at that diameter only starts life at a wall thickness of 8.5mm.
  19. Is this feed pipe you are talking about, the stuff pellets travel through at high speed?
  20. Don't be like that Dan, he's trying... very bloody trying.
  21. Thieving traveller scum made his live a misery in a very isolated part of Norfolk. It didn't help his cause being in possession of a pump action gun after Hungerford. RIP.
  22. It's like lots of insurance, especially ones we don't have to aquire by law, pet insurance for example, it's something people pay for and hope they never need to use it. I too would be far better off if I'd not had breakdown cover and paid only when I've needed recovery.
  23. Who uses who for what kind of cover, just basic, or compression cover. I realise some banks offer cover so do insurance companies aswell as the big hitters, AA, RAC, Green Flag. LV seem to have good reviews. If you've been unfortunate enough to have to use breaking cover recently which company were you using and what was the service like? Personally because I run older vans I usually take.a comprehensive cover including cover in Europe. Your.thougjts and experiences?
  24. Keep it sunshine.
