  1. yep, now the tour starts in earnest, bring on those HC climbs.
  2. I don't think you'll regret it mate, very nice rope:thumbup1:
  3. Thats a quality list of cars mate, know what you mean about 4x4/tippers, practicality takes priority, happy memories tho.

    Cheers, Ian

  4. Thought so, It's a stunning looker, is it yours, I built a mk1 works replica years ago and always wanted a mk2, a near neighbour at the time had an ex works Ari Vatanen mk2 which he used to rally, it went like **** off a shovel.

    I'm dead jealous mate.

  6. Hi mate, is my memory right in thinking you used to have a rally sport Ford Escort as your avatar?

  7. Mate, maybe try deleting it and reinstalling, I don't think they charge if you've already bought it, at least I haven't been charged when I've had to re do. I bought it through my laptop then plugged my phone in, rather than downloading straight to phone, shouldn't make a difference really. Prob not much help Moz but scratching my head a bit i'm afraid
  8. Both downloaded and feedback left on itunes. Fantastic additions to my phone, well done Steve oh and David for his work on the fung app, great work guys.
  9. Hi Ewan if you did use the right screws it sounds like a bit of loctite would do the trick, I saw your post on another thread and it looks like you're not alone, I'm thinking I might take it apart and use some just to be sure.
  10. Hi Ewan, by "coming loose" are you referring to the screw that holds it or the red metal thimble itself? Mine uses a stepped screw that allows the thimble to rotate even when torqued and as you said allows for even loading. Doesn't sound good that it's creeping.
  11. Here you go buddy, sawmans photo, save you going to the ropewrench thread:thumbup:
  12. I'm confused too, just checked it and it takes me straight to page 80 of the ropewrench feedback thread, go to post 798 on page 80 of said thread and sawmans photo is posted there, very similar to the setup of caorran posted last night. Yeh I'm thinking the same but like the simplicity of the ddrt/srt changeover etc. As mentioned above, page 80, post 798:thumbup:
  13. Here you go mate, post 798, I'm in a similar situation to you, wondering whether the sj will work srt or try a unicender instead, but would prefer to carry on using the sj if possible. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/36682-rope-wrench-feedback-80.html
  14. Unleaded sales up by 81% yesterday apparently, diesel up by 38%, insanity.
  15. The bowline is a very good termination knot, the main issue being the inability to tie it tight enough to cinch down on to the carabiner, with the theoretical risk that when unloaded it can side load the gate(as born2trot said). The anchor hitch for example eliminates this risk as does the buntline. Hope that makes sense:thumbup1:
  16. nice work Drew, in picture two i'm guessing thats shrink wrap waiting to be heated?
  17. BT broadband is apparently not provided by BT but by OPENZONE, they're not related, so when there is a line fault BT engineers fix it, OPENZONE is allegedly:sneaky2: just another service provider like Sky, AOL etc, well thats what our BT engineer told us,he wasn't allowed to touch broadband faults " not my department guv" and all that bullshit It's all far too complicated:001_rolleyes:
  18. To be honest Rob I had no desire to change, they pushed me to the point where I felt I had no choice and haven't regretted it.
  19. Had nothing but trouble with BT when our broadband died, their customer/technical support is apalling, we had all the same problems as you Rob with no resolution even tho the fault was their end, in the end I cancelled our direct debit awaited the fallout and court threats which predictably arrived, said I'd happily see them there for breach of/mis selling of contract at which point they released our contract. Been with Sky ever since and they've been very helpful and very reliable.
  20. Thanks for that Peter, I like the idea of whiplocking being functional as well as decorative, I'll have a nosey at Samsons instructions.
  21. I have a question about whiplocking compared to lockstitching, I only use a whiplock to secure my splices but saw in a previous thread Peter suggesting it is mostly decorative. So should I lockstitch and then whiplock or is a whiplock sufficiently strong in it's own right? Your thoughts please.
  22. Try this http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/29712-best-spiderjack-rope.html There are other threads too:thumbup1:
