Never employ anyone on the books again me..... no horror stories but never again. Took too many days holiday, all pretty provided, training, pension etc and still handed notice in as work was too much. As above says being fair and looking after folk can lead to being taken advantage of. OK if your business is WOKE 👍

Even so they are easy and bread and butter.... people usually have certain spare money they're willing to spend happily without considering or speaking to a partner as they would with a 5-700 quid job and that's when it's 3 quotes and miss out on it by 50 quid scenario 3 easy jobs is better than one hard one 😉

Quiet where we are in all fairness. I've priced a few big jobs recently but there's one company scooping them up for peanuts. Must be sign of the times but generally that's how they roll.... You would always think the 2-300 quid jobs would be dead certain to get but some folk holding back still

Anyone else know what other machines out there are worth a look? Still having issues with mine after throwing plenty of brass at it. All I can see so far are a lot of older nearly 20 year old bandits for 20k or so then a big jump up to 38k and then 50k plus. Anyone know of another brand to try or model?

I run a 2m3 bucket on an older jcb 527-58.... that bucket in the pile can make the back end buck a bit lol (very long in the bottom) good bucket though. I may bang some antifreeze and water in the back tyres though next.

Correct and for me it's about filling the other side and paying it down and all sorts.... 6m only just works but more is better

Planning act 1990

I'm sure I read the planning in 2019 and discharged in 2021 I will look again That said I have another issue with a site where a group of lawson cypress are under planning conditions 'in perpetuity' 😆 these must be the first trees that are going to live forever

Just wanting to pick some brains if possible please. Got a job to do to remove some trees on a property. Checked with council, no tpo or con area happy days but they say may be planning conditions attached. I asked them for more information but they've gone quiet on me. Anyhow, old house was demolished, mew house built nearly 4 years ago. Checked on planning and it says "other issues" trees to be retained and protected ... no mention of timescales etc (is it possible trees should have been tpod but council potentially caught with trousers down?) Then in another section describes tree protection fencing to British standards etc.... ( is British standards applied to all sites where trees are even when not protected in any way via the council?) Trying to see where I stand really. Plannings done with, house is built and lived in. Recent checking in with the council reveals no tpo or con area..... why do they have to say planning conditions to mucky the water and then not give any more info on the subject! What do people think? Highly unlikely likely they would protect said trees as not good specimens by far! One large tree is to be retained and selective reduction so not mass felling everything. Yeah I got knobbled with that normal headstock. A right shit to get on the machine it is as its just sat there on top.... not laid back at an angle on back of a bucket..... made me change the opinion of who did it in fairness..... Measure and think twice cut once

Doesnit have to be a finger grab?

One way is to get a head stock that has 2 sets of pins...... for example look at the jb equipment site on their grab..... undo at your quick hitch, move grab 90 degrees and use quick hitch pick it back up again. Be careful on grab weights! I put a grab and rotator on a 1.8t machine then sold the machine as it couldn't handle it.

I often do that also. Tell them catch local farmer for these shitty mixed hedges road side or side of a field. Massive saving to customers and more pleasurable me not doing it 😎
