  2. lol i wish haha I didn't do it for myself but the safety of others and it will generate some work for a contractor out there
  3. If you hear a noise when clutch pedal pressed, most likely clutch release bearing on way out Its either failing or eating into the clutch diaphragm spring
  4. Prices people I dont really want to spend more that 1000-1200 if possible.
  5. Right over canal and people walking underneath it. the only bit seeming to hold it together is a bit of wood on compression side and a small bit going between co dominant stems (top left pic 4). where it attaches to the other stem its hollow says my new sounding mallet.
  6. Been out today, and been back and looked at a beech I noticed a year or two ago suffering. Took my new mallet for sounding out the stem Its absolutely knackered, partially failed over a highly used area! informed people who needed to know.
  7. How much was the balfor? Cheers
  8. Right, I need to look into best way for processing logs for me. On important thing is that i disslike doing logs! But i dont see the point selling unsplit un seasoned. I want it made as easy as possible. Not wanting to hire processor in either. I have a sliding top saw bench but it wont do the diameter i want. I also have a log splitter for large rings etc. All my wood is arb wood. I sell >50cube per year will most likely increase. I dont want to invest a lot into fire wood production, so a full blown processor not what i want. So i either want a pto rocking saw bench, or maybe a petrol engine one? Depending on cost. Maybe a hp eagle but second hand not new. Want to cut up to 10-12" most wood comes back in 3-8ft lengths. Which would suit me better? And what sort of money are they? Is there somewhere to look for 2nd hand fire wood equiptment? Would be buying a pto bench new or 2nd hand hp eagle. Think oxdale is closest to me? Barnoldswick, lancashire Cheers chris
  9. Last time i went to a arboretum it was down in devon and it was great. You see some places advertising as arboretums but are just gardens with a few trees. Are there any decent arboretums in the north west with allsorts of trees, an them labeled with history etc? Cheers
  10. Excellent stuff pal!
  11. Cobra do a 19" wheeled mower with kawasaki engine I do and dont wish i went for the 19" as the 21" is a fair old lump! Good luck with what you purchase, mowing season soon
  12. I used to have a hrb 475 and a hrx 476 bot roller though. Older mower was the better. Newer ones were said to be bad for gearbox failures etc. Now have a cobra 21" pro roller
  13. Also just because you have another ticket doesnt mean the person is worth anymore as they wont be able to use that ticket efficiently.
  14. I know the tickets are needed but it just gives an example of 2 people with same tickets, both worth different money.
  15. Tickets mean naff all... i know people who have climbing tickets and felling tickets and couldnt do either! Guys who ha e tickets and are.good and can be sent to a job and fell climb dismantle tree safely are worth more. Both may have same tickets but 2nd guy is better and worth more. Some people need to take off the rose tinted glasses, experiance and being good is worth more than any tickets. I dont care if someone has just gained cs38, will still have knees knocking, probabilly couldnt save you in a month of sundays and be un productive in a tree. Experiance not tickets.
  16. Tree saw? You work for ginge?
  17. Sorted that for you

    Trailer

Think a dropside trailer non tip was 22-24" bed height

    Trailer

Youve no chance, been though all this allready. It would need to be on 10" wheels etc Plant trailer 16" load height. Ifor tippers 34" from reccolection. I binned the idea. Im not dragging branches then climbing up the back of a trailer of that height even when aided woth a ramp.
  20. If you boys need to season conifer for 2 years you've got issues. Once split i can get it down to 18-20% in 6 months or so, thats air dried. And yes james ive been using it for kindling for personal use.
  21. Mines just done 1100 hours and had just been fitted with new engine when i bought it I do like the machine! Keep thinking about selling my smaller grinder but keep thinking, what if i cant get the vermeer in...
  22. Better for the saw, free-er flowing exhaust, less heat on the engine, less exhaust fumes to try melt your chain brake handle
  23. Yup me three, great to deal with, the back up and technical is spot on. The wealth of information through years of working on them importing them and fixing them is priceless. I've seen a few new dealers pop up, mainly gardenmachinery that have been approved as chipper folk and they dont know their arse from their elbow!
  24. Is it worth putting some loc tite on aswell for the pockets?
