    Socks

not superior TCD,, just a different option,,, i've worked on people in the past that should never have custom footbeds, and then others that suit customs and not off the peg.. it's all about your feet and what's best for em,,

    Socks

actually there are a few types of superfeet, thin ones for the heel wearers, to stiffer ones for the heavy footed, re moulded orthotics, it depends what your needs are and how good/ bad your feet are,,, i spend most of my life bare foot,, i have very strong feet, never use footbeds, BUT lucy has appalling feet, her arches are collapsed and her feet are wrecked, this is from years of clamping snowboard bindings down squashing her feet, so footbeds force her feet back into shape giving her an arch back, the arch is effectively the suspension, without it there's no suspension.. so, back to moulded,, they cost alot more and some love em some hate em, they MUST be fitted by someone who knows what they are doing,, snow and rock are at the forefront of this in action sports, but you can get em from your doc etc etc to be honest,, first thing is to try superfeet, they cost £30 and you can trim them yourself, the big difference is that they are not moulded all the way round your feet, the shape of the heel cup is designed so that a small bone ion the inside of your heel is supported, this forces your arch into shape. this allows your foot to do what it is supposed to,, a moulded one will be totally moulded to the shape of your foot and as such it is down to the flex in the footbed to allow your foot to move as it should, they're not for everyone,,, IanH feel free to correct any mistakes, it's been a couple of years since i was involved with this,

if you want to get technical,, my best mate runs smartwool....how tech do you want to get? stay away from synthetic,, stay natural,, merino is good,, go with either one pair thinker or 2 thin pairs works well, should really be looking at footbeds too,, how many of you use superfeet?
  17. skyhuck,,, fair point. well said, dave,, i only mentioned "pro surfer" as he's probably the one surfer who has made a pretty good living out of it,,, in fact, he IS the Uk's most well known familly.. darren,, i love technology, as tommer will testify,, i like your thinking,, in fact i've been considering swapping to ipad for a while,, you make it, i'll buy it,,
  18. now helliloggers,,,,that's a whole different ball game,,
  19. dave, no one said anything about bad paying,, i never mentioned it at all, and when i went round to see the wife of this particular pro surfer i explained what was involved in great detail, from insurance, etc etc etc... she knew exactly what was going where,, and why the cost was £300..
  20. ok i get your point,, my problem with that is when that customer then has a friend that needs something doing,, and this customer tells that person that such and such was done for £140.. they are un aware of what else was done that day,,, it will set a presedent,,, i'd rather walk away..
  21. i'm not upset about it,, i was literally gobsmacked that it could be done for that price,, i couldn't give a monkeys to be honest,, i posted as it was a good topic for discussion, i was suprised it could be done for that cost and still turn a profit,,, i reckon it could be done in half a day, but personally I'd take the extra care not to smash the fence/ shed/ decking underneath, as well as the cars that will be inevitably parked underneath ignoring the signs.. i'm sorry but even on my own with chipper £140 is not worth doing it for,,, by the time i take overheads into account , and believe me when i say mine are small in comparison to lots on here,,, it'd be a loss,,,
  22. i left her a message this afternoon saying that it is impossible for me to do it at that price without making a loss,,, recommended that she check the other guys insurance policy, ask how he will manage the traffic etc as well as asking to see the application to the planning dep for the works etc etc,,
  23. well said skyhuck,,, dadio can now add hypocrisy to his list of talents, tony,, i apologise for the above comment but i'm having some muppet that does not know me from adam (no offence if you're called adam) tell me what i do and don't know,,
  24. still doesn't explain the contradiction of your first comment about it being a safe method and the pages of disclaimers on the start of the video i'm also curious, if it's such a "safe" method how come it is not taught on the courses? and how come when my instructor showed me this method when we were working together did he say it was a very stupid, lazy but effective way to remove a hung up tree,, and i think that is the crux of this,, whilst i completely disagree with you that this is a safe method to use,, it IS effective,,,, but then so was the atomic bomb,,,
