  3. todays job,, 10 mile drive across fresh untouched snow covered tarmac,, then across 3 fields,, and into the woods,,,didn't miss a beat..
  4. sounds like fifth gear to me,,,,
  5. correct me if i'm mistaken but taxes paid in austria can only be claimed back after 2 years..and not all of them either,,
  6. i wouldn't recommend hi flex for a beginner,, you'll be replacing them in no time,, you CAN tuck trousers into wellies, nothing in the rules that says you cant.. hi flex are super comfy,, but they are as durable as a chocolate toothbrush.. and yes boots are great but they're also expensive,, if you're occasional user, then there's nowt wrong with wellies,,esp if you live somewhere where it rains all the time,,,
  7. yeh cos that'll stop em,,,
  8. i'm working for the secretary of the quorn hunt tomorrow,,,
  9. yeh they should,, he shot himself in the foot good and proper,,, have you seen fifth gear,,, and the "we have the guy that used to be the stig" ... it's parp,, doesn't work AT all,,
  10. on now,, pretty funny so far,..

  13. i'm assuming you've made a nice donation to the site for the big ad you've placed as your first post??? in case you can't find the button it's at the bottom of the page,,
  14. you CAN switch it all OFF on a D3,, there is a little button on the dash,,, turns the whole lot off,,, am reckoning as it was a loaner you werent used to the car and the "quirks" i'd probably get stuck in a defender as i'm not used to them,, but am more than happy with the D3 and my trailer in most situations as said above,, driver/ tyres etc...
  15. matt, has he got a little orange round sticker in the windscreen? or one on the tailgate saying disco3 ?
  16. i beg to differ there,, and tommer will back me up,, had mine loaded to about a foot above the rails,, in sticky mud and have only got AT2's on at the moment,, got out just fine,, and over the weekend,, a field full of coliflower that had been picked, so the tractors had been all over,, managed to get in and out plenty of times loading a big ash tree, again,, tom knows the field,, there is also nothing wrong with the difflocks on the D3,, you just gotta know how it all works,,,
  17. 4 hours actually,, got a few of them I can donate a date with josh,,, although i've yet to tell him,, and you'll need to be good looking,, preferably female to win it,, \
  18. ohhh,, i'll take that as a compliment then:thumbup1: i love my D3,, wouldn't have anything else to be honest,, best car i've ever had,, and today it proved it's worth and kept me, my wife,, our little girl and a dat husky safe in some of the worst driving conditions i've seen in this country,, have to add that the conditions are pretty normal for alpine winters,,, hence enjoying it so much,,
  19. here's why BMW's are poop,, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6yX70Ce9VY]YouTube - BMW + Snow + Woman = Epic Fail[/ame]
  20. drove from truro to nottingham today,, didnt put a foot wrong,,, and we cleared the outside lane for 30 miles too,,
  21. we drove from cornwall to the osgathorpe today,, a journey that normally takes 4 hours took 8 1/2.. the A30 was closed both directions,, not by police,, but by snow,,but we drove through it can pushed on until we hit clear road,,, then at exeter there was knee deep snow,, my dog was VERY happy,, the M5 was chaos,, no tarmac to be seen there was that much snow,,, we made it, as did lots of other people,, the only concern i had all day was the few people in rear wheel drive cars on normal road tyres that believed that they could get away with 80mph+ on 3 inches of fresh snow,,, we did see one of them later on balanced on the armco.. i thought the council/ highways/ government were doing a great job considering the conditions,, although we did not see a plough on our side at all,, we did see 4 on the southbound side,, happily ploughing it all onto our side,,, right car, right tyres, right speed for the conditions,,,,, great fun why all those people headed to the airport in the first place beats me,, there was PLENTY of warning,, enough that 4 friends all due to travel to various places via plane made other arrangements,,, got lots of pics,, will upload tomorrow as i'm pooped,,
  22. so did you spend it on booze or girls>???
  23. the UK distributor of heely's is a mate of mine, that company begged him to take them for 2 years before he relented,, we're often joke about it,, the turnover figures are hilarious..
  24. actually this is perfectly feasible,,, and not expensive either, i've worked with materials with titanium mesh built into the fabric,, this was to make wetsuits warmer,, I've also been involved with it being used in normal textile,, perfectly doable and not expensive
