  2. was a sweet day! anyone got any suggestions about resizing photos so they are small enough to fit on arbtalk? my photos are obviously far too high quality haha
  3. In my case it will probably be who can pop out the quickest and slide down the pole getting splinters in my arse!
  4. Is there any chance of having a go with someones spikes on sunday? I have never used them and really want to give it a go but I have never had the opportunity before.
  5. Where was the tallest broadleaf then? Bryanston? beats me. Is it a plane of a syccie cant tell very well from the footage. Sounds great though, will have to go see that sometime
  6. Ha! Im really looking forward to this now.. lots of shiny new stuff to look at, slithering around trees and a 4 seasons bbq! Sounds perfect
  7. HAHAHA no i'm well up for climbing in the pissing rain if you lot are!! and i'm about as southern as it gets! born and raised SW London!!!
  8. Weather does not look great for sunday I'm not against getting wet but I can't imagine everyone else will be too keen on having a bbq in the rain! BBC weather forecast for Tonbridge area. "Friday to Sunday Mostly cloudy on Friday, with rain spreading north, some of it heavy. Cloudy with further rain at times on Saturday and at first Sunday, then becoming brighter again." If it clears up as suggested could be slippy fun still
  9. By the sounds of all these great trees there should be a southwest rec climb also!
  10. Park house. National trust centre of operations for Dartmoor. Drive up the main entrance huge Sessile Oak just before cattle grid and entrance to the car park BEAST! There are some fine conifers in Cardinham woods which is close to Lanhydrock if you go there. In the car park there is also quite a large Oak. Had a very large limb taken off and is quite one sided. Great fun to climb though!

    Richmond Park

Hi Sean. Im very close to Richmond park and I have never seen the Red Oak. Whereabouts in the park is it? I would love to visit that tree.. Ben
  12. This photo was taken up a Beech tree right next to Burrator reservoir on Dartmoor. There is a lot of moisture in the air around there as it is next to the waterfall where it flows over the dam. Loads more photos but they won't fit. Too high quality

    S.r.t?

I have a petzl pantin, croll and ascension with a footloop. Works really well. Croll in the middle. step down on pantin and push up ascension. Then step down of ascension with footloop. Croll captures the progress. Nice easy ropewalker system!
  14. That sounds great Justin! Not for sale.. not particularly that i want to skimp on it, just like the adujstable vents. As you say it would be good to check them all out and get a better idea. Cheers guys
  15. would you guys recommend doing a combined 10 week craftsmen course or doing 30+31 first, then 38+39 as two combined courses? Trying to work out the most cost effective and beneficial way if doing it. The craftsmen courses look more expensive but seem to cover alot more of the diseases and biology side of things.. Just looking for some ideas. Cheers
  16. Yeah they look nice.. but expensive and i quite like the idea of the holes in the petzl vent. my head gets hot quite easily! we will see what happens with these people. If it all goes to pot I can do as you say and burrow try and buy!
  17. Anywhere specific? its a very large place! or are there monster trees everywhere? Cheers by the way
  18. Does anyone know of any big vetran oaks of beeches in Berkshire? I love climbing both by the way although oaks win for me because they have more space to move around in!
  19. Apparently if you grow a pear against a wall it will naturally grow in a fan shape..
  20. Cheers Mick. Im burrowing a mates at the mo but he needs it over the weekend. I will give them til thursday on the basis that they did tell me straight away that it was not in stock and I said I would give them til thursday. Dont want to be too much of a dick to them when they have been good to me! Looking forward to sunday!!
  21. got a new lid coming from TFM Stihl Vent Tree Care Helmet but they don't have it in stock and seem to be a bit slow. If they don't get their act together by weds/thurs I will cancel my order in the hope that Justin from FR Jones can bring something similar down for my to buy off him on sunday? Here's hoping
