  1. well if new coil dosent work, it will be in a box and sent to you to sort out lol, cheers for the input
  2. ok thanks for the help, have tried disconnecting kill wire and various air gaps, just seems really strange that coil was fine when i took it off the donor saw then when refitted ,its a no go, its a husq 268 btw so nothing fancy, ill order a new coil and see how it goes, cheers mike
  3. well ive apologised but it still wont give me a spark,i used a metal feeler gauge for gap, im wondering if this has messed anything up, i normally use a piece of thin card
  4. took coil off known working saw to try on another saw, wouldnt work , put it back on the other saw now it dosent work on there either, i checked gap before i took it off and put it back with same gap????????????????????????

  11. ive just done my stihl hedge cutters, nothing to it really, just make a note of where everything goes, carefull with gaskets if you are not buying new ones, most jobs on a stihl can be done with a torx bit, t27 i think, good luck

  13. sorry to cause a debate, hedgecutter now running like a dream, forgot to mention that i put a carb on from another machine, adjusted this up and went within 3 pulls
  14. took wires off the coil,and made a note how they went, i replaced the piston so thats how far i went in taking it apart
  15. and plug is wet
  16. got spark, put a rizla flap under coil pick up maybe that is too big a gap
  17. took stihl hs 85 hedge cutters apart today, after i had took the pot off i suddenly realised i hadnt marked where tdc was in relation to flywheel, does this affect the timing??? as now they wont start.........doh

    all said and done tho, the mower will be used max 2 days a week on fine lawns, my 48,s the same really so wont be having a hard life

    had no problems with my 48 pro,s newest one being 3 years old now, but have heard bad reviews on the new ones
