  1. Cheers for that, I'm quite interested in this one at the moment: Nilfisk E140.3-9 S X-tra Pressure Washer - Nilfisk Domestic Pressure Washers - CleanStore Looks good, I have budgeted around the £200 - £250 mark as well What do you think?
  2. Cheers guys i reckon i'll go for a nilfisk haven't decided which model yet though. I suppose the higher the pressure the better? Where did you guys get yours from the internet? I found this dealer here: Compact Range (Click Here) Anyone used them before?
  3. Do you know which model you went for?
  4. I'm after a new pressure washer for cleaning the truck mowers etc. But I've heard karcher are not as good anymore and there are other alternatives? Just wandering what sort of pressure washer to go for.
  5. Ok thanks for that how do you take the flywheel off though?
  6. Tried that!
  7. I have a few stihl long handle hedge cutters and strimmers that i am thinking of stripping down and hopefully rebuilding if they are not to far gone. But I have been looking for a "how to" of stripping them down and can't find a decent one anyone got a link or something that shows it step by step?
  8. I was looking for a similar sized saw about a year ago and it was between the 372 and 461. I had not used either before and after picking up a 372 in the shop i went for the 461. It just felt like it could stand up to more abuse and IMO felt better to handle. I now run the 461 on a 20" bar and love it, I rarely use smaller saws than the 461 now as i like it so much! I did have it on a 25" bar and it pulled well. but i have a 660 so anything over the 20" i pick that up. I think you can put a different exhaust on the 461 to give it a bit more power but haven't really felt it necessary running the 20" bar. Hope this helps.
  9. Cheers for the help everyone, I'm also going to insulate the shed inbetween the stud work would this make a difference to the type of membrane i need? and what sort of insulation would you use? I was thinking of the kind you cut to size with a handsaw.
  10. Well i'm near to the stage of putting the timber frame up for my shed and getting on with the cladding. But before i go any further i was wandering if i should put a membrane on the frame before the cladding goes on? Not done any building work before so its all new to me, but i was thinking of something like this: Protect A1 Roofing Underlay 1 x 15m | Roof Insulation | Screwfix.com
  11. Ok thanks. I may try to quarter saw the log at least that way there is less chance of the wood moving to much. The tree has been down for probably a year how much more drying time would i need after the boards have been milled?
  12. Ok thanks, the poplar i'm thinking of using is probably 30" wide at least so i was thinking of making the top out of one board so there would be no gaps. Is this a good idea or would such a wide board move to much?
  13. Thanks for the advice can i pick your brain a bit more please? would the wood have to be completely dry before i build the bench or will it move to much if i construct it green? Also what oils and insecticide would you use? many thanks, James.
  14. Would you oil the wood to protect it a bit or just leave it natural? Is poplar a hard enough wood to withstand knocks and big bits of metal being put on it?
  15. Ash, Oak, sycamore unfortunately not a lot of beech thats the ones i can think of at the moment
  16. I know this is a bit late, but i still havn't got round to milling any wood for my work bench. But just thinking if poplar and spruce aren't the best options for a work bench what wood would you guys use?
  17. Thats the sort of stuff i was thinking off where did you get yours from?
  18. I'm thinking of trying to source some rubber mats to put down on the existing concrete floor in my shed and just wandered if anyone else has done the same? If so what sort of mats did you use and where did you buy them from?
  19. I can do that for you do you want a picture of the actual problem with the boot? as i can't take a picture of that as it is on the inside of the boot
  20. Just my luck! may try a different pair of boots then if i'm only going to get just over a year out of them before this sort of stuff happens!
  21. I'm not convinced its sawdust either, I personally believe it to be the kevlar or whatever material is in them. It happened quite quickly and at the time i was not doing much chainsaw work either. Nobody has had any luck with contacting haix before then?
  22. Normal stihl 2 stroke oil
  23. Don't think so, but i'll check it when i get a minute.
  24. I've always worn Haix protector pros and my last set lasted almost 4years so can't complain. But I've only had my new pair for just over a year now and have noticed that some of the kevlar seems to have slipped down the boot so that there is a large lump just above my right foot before the toe cap starts. I was just wandering if anyone else has had a similar issue with them? I'm wandering whether or not to contact Haix to be honest.
  25. I've got a Stihl HL95 that no matter what i try, it will not tick over. I can only get it so that the blades continue to run if i adjust the carb anymore it just stops. I obviously don't want to use it like this so is there anything else i can check to try and get it ticking over properly?
