  1. I reckon there was a pretty high chance of death just posing for the photos back in those days. Amazing how much was achieved using so little.
  2. This was true. None of ‘em needed a false tan either!!
  3. kids these days ‘eh!!
  4. Once you have spent weeks climbing in Ye Olde Oregon duvet-flex (circa 1990) every thing else will seem like a piece o’ pizz.
  5. I suppose it would work if you used a direct-cylinder, rather than the indirect-cylinder depicted in the diagram, but then, the direct-cylinder setup is only of interest to those who have no objection to their family bathing in rusty water. ?
  6. Yes, they appear to be missing the header tank for the boiler / coil circuit. ..... bit concerning considering the diagram is produced by the manufacturer.
  7. Indeed. ... DHW and a lukewarm rad (as taken from the installation guide). https://www.esse.com/wp-content/themes/esse/downloads/guides-and-manuals/woodburning-stoves/Ironheart-Manual.pdf Still..... it’s a nice looking stove, and as pointed out, locally made.
  8. Excellent. I did exactly the same.
  9. This is how it works for us as well. Did you install it yourself, or get an expert in?
  10. ....And for wading about in deep brambles. ..... and for standing about when it’s really, really cold.
  11. I wouldn’t be so sure..... Sounds like a perfectly standard Westcountry autumn/winter to me. ?
  12. Not had one, so I can’t comment on them. Here is the.... errrrr frank discussion Peasgood Possibly alluded to....
  13. If felling uphill, the humboldt may well be a waste of timber. I would experiment with a shallower angled conventional sink cut, as it should break off the hinge sooner than a ‘normal 45*’ angled sink cut. The enthusiastic removal of ‘sap wood’ should reduce tearing and ensure a clean break.
  14. I am starting to really wonder about the AA. They can’t rescue cars...... .....they can’t keep the HSE at bay..... .....they haven’t curbed my drinking for me. ?
  15. Some may say that a heat sink rad in the bathroom is a smarter move.
  16. It is indeed..... yet strangely, it was the BBQ and the parasol that most caught my eye. In life, the most important thing Is to get your priorities sorted!
  17. Maybe.... I thought it was 12ft lbs.
  18. Cheers, that’s the ‘spot the power line’ photo sorted for this years company Christmas fete.
  19. Good that the dog provided an ongoing pep-talk!
  20. Good to see another success in the ‘low impact’ sector.
  21. Nice pictures... look good enough to have come out of a brochure.

Reminds me of the roads across the moors after the Dartmoor prison farm sale.
  23. A chap called Alan at Lynher Training in Cornwall had a Lucas Mill. All the workbenches in their training room were made from sycamore (IIRC) that they had milled themselves. Pretty nice looking timber for use in that type of application as I remember.
