    Bought this old boatyard winch for £50 off ebay, with a bit of work made it fit the 3 point linkage, had a stub of a pto bored and tapped to fit the input shaft of the winch, it has a 1 to 47 reduction so it is very slow, but controlable, done a few trial runs works spot on, so next job is to make all the guards and ground anchor . The money i saved buying this cheap winch bought us another tractor.

    Hi i,m still looking for a 4 cylinder david brown engine, must be a good runner, would be interested in a good crankshaft aswell for a david brown and i,ve been on the DBTC site no joy! would consider a full tractor:thumbup: cheers Mark.

    wanted to have it hydraulic powered so i could use it on my digger as well, think i,l leave it pto powered and look for a grab to go on the digger. thanks for everyones input.

    I,m on converting a pto powered winch to been hydraulic powered, so the winch will reverse, i would like some input on which hydraulic motor to use? the winch will run off the tractor hydraulics, it has a reduction gear of 47/1 and one turn of the cable drum is 1 meter of cable when the drum is full and the winch is 6ton:001_smile:

    Hi has anyone tried one of the 56mm bigbore kits they give 98.5cc. I had a rumage about in a box of stihl bits i bought and found a ms660 and 3 064,s among other stuff, the 660 needs a barrel and piston so i thought stick a bigbore on it and open the exhaust a bit, should be quite a tool, if you have tried one of these kits did you have any problem?

    i,ve fitted over 200 aftermarket kits and had no problems with them.
