  1. Hey johny, it's a free app called snapseed. Made by Google and it's pretty good for example here's one I've edited and the original. One of my apprentices spent a good 7 hours reducing this. A guy with a few years experience would of possibly done it in 3-4 hours. However they can't develop or learn just doing simple and easy trees. This oak got accidentally burnt from an over zealous fire, as a result we had to prune the lower sections back quite hard and remove the lowest couple of limbs as they had died of completely. No finished pic but I'll give him his dues, stuck at it even though it knackered the heck out of him and he did it all himself without me going up and doing a bit.
  2. For a joke I mentioned we need to reduce this conifer hedge by 1-2ft. Felled a tree round the front and walked back round. Jokes on me now and clients extremely happy with the free work.
  3. Second that Pete dealt with an issue on my 1928 which was a couple of bolts mid rounding. Took it to the dealer and not only did the sort the problem but replace the bolts with a much higher grade for free. Other than that mines been spot on.
  4. That's good, well except forgetting oil for the bar but that's not a big issue more of a re training the brain. I've been using my 150 a lot and I'm thinking of getting a back handle one for by the chipper. But now you've mentioned a back handled one you've got me thinking. My elbows are hurting a bit these days so I'm now actively looking for options and your streets ahead of my though process so I'm going to take your advice as you use it more.
  5. Any negatives to report? I assume it's early stages but please keep us updated. I love the idea of moving away from fuelled saws in certain parts of arb work.
  6. To be fair I read contracts throughly as its responsible to do so. Nothing saying that I cannot as I am the contractor completing the works. I don't know you to be fair and think it might be how I read the quotes comment above but it seems slightly bitter towards me? Any particular reason for this? I'll assume your kens son? As I recognise the surname. Ian
  7. I guess they can tie that in when they actually clear up all the lorry plastic, mirrors and bits of interior then. 😂
  8. Did I spot a mini loader?? Nice work. Bet the hiab was a god send.
  9. Not tree cutting today but health and safety tree surveys. I started in Woodbridge and finished up in a gem of a costal village called thornham (near Hunstanton). Did the equivalent of London and back in a landy so I need a couple of hours with a chiropractor now. Anyway here's the view towards the beach from the last site.
  10. Because it's what it has and I'd rather pump the money into other parts that blow a good wedge on the additional tipping gear.
  11. Yeah the crane was on from new!! I will replace it over time and move the crane to the rear. Just trying to do it right and to the best level I can afford.
  12. The pick up hitch is the next thing to be removed, checked and put back together properly. It's had a couple of questionable welds done on it. It is attached to the main chassis though.
  13. Nothing that a landy couldn't go down to be honest. Don't plan to play around in it.
  14. Just off the top of my head but doesn't puwer state that staff should be adequately trained.
  15. Yeah pretty often to be fair. Costs me £4 a board if I get enough made. I can't find a more cost effective way to advertise on a main road. We do however get the odd one smashed up by whoever.
  16. Carrying out some reactive works for highways today. This one was a articulated lorry that went off the road. Snapped 3 willows at the base and two completely out of the ground plus 2 hawthorns. If you look near the driver side mirror you can see where they craned out the trailer (3 wheel grooves.) We replaced the destroyed ones and coppiced anything remained but heavily damaged.
  17. I think he's saying don't tie into something too small.
  18. Hi, I'm down with flu and have a job that requires a climber for Monday and Tuesday. 3 reductions. The site is in norwich. Best to email me at [email protected] M
  19. Beautiful oak John. Fell and stack timber today. 3 robinias felled and this macrocarpa. I was going to strip it out but just felled it with millimetres to spare from the fence. Only needed 3 wedges to topple her.
  20. As long as you bring me a beer back from the beer tent you can. I find it clears a way to the bar.
