  1. I just want rid either way, trying to open a few avenues for removal incase 1 goes belly up.
  2. Aprox 200t mixed hard & soft wood "possibly" available for collection roadside in Retford, if Stobarts give us a pap price for chip then its going elsewhere, good access for wagon & grab. Must take the whole lot.
  3. Yep the whole lot, problem with that is we will still have a LOT of brash to deal with, if i could get a crane fed chipper in then happy days but imo that will add too much cost to the job as we are already planning on getting a 360 on site. Trying to suss out the best method.
  4. Thanks matt, it a bit out of the way i recon the transport would kill the price.
  5. Cheers Tom, the site where the trees are located is in Retford, we thought about selling the timber roadside but i think i would rather get somebody in that can take the whole tree away, so as the trees are all virgin timber do you reckon its worth as much as £20 a tonne? i don't want to store it just want to get rid while its on site.
  6. Tried them, they only have small excavators.
  7. I told them where the site was and their exact words was "its a good place to be" hes asked if i had a figure in my head price per tonne i said £10 then asked him to tell me what they would offer. Hopefully find out tomorrow.
  8. We have got around 200 tonne of timber to shift once felled, all virgin timber mixed hard & soft wood. What should i expect Stobarts to be paying per tonne? they will be coming in and chipping it themselves.
  9. I agree
  10. Looking to hire a 15T 360 excavator with log grab, in the Retford area preferably a rotator grab but necessarily.
  11. Agricultural just grass land, some has already been sold off for a signal mast.
  12. Ours collects a lot of dust, but when it goes out it does a lot of work.
  13. Horse atm but. Somewhere down the line if I can change usage then yard me thinks.
  14. worth an ask, sure there must be a farmer who would let a piddly bit of land go for a fair price
  15. yeah its not that much around here, need to come up with a sensible offer before i present it.
  16. Its basically a huge field that just gets bailed for hay every year, the corner of this field must be a right ball ache to mow/bale etc. Was thinking about trying to find the owner of the land and make them an offer, they are either going to say yes or no.
  17. How do you work out the price of land? ie 0.5 acres of what is now and has only ever been used as agricultural grass land, with road access ? i cannot find any other similar pieces of land in this area that are up for sale to gauge a price from.
  18. I started work on a farm...never ever had to have a ticket for anything ...just save up and do your nptc
  19. Why go back to 3.5t? did vosa allow you to keep that at home? or yard? they are basically the same as the 3.5t dailys right?
  20. Yeah they do a lot of the utilities have em, some of transits have a 1.5t payload i believe, hear nothing but bad things about the new ish transits though. And the brand new ones, they seem too good for work who wants electric everything air con etc on a work horse?
  21. Did you have a 5.5t Iveco Johny? u still got it?
  22. Whats the payload on that? looks like a really nice van.
  23. Trailer = 550kg Chipper 1335kg Towing capacity of van 2.250 kg So in theory yes it will tow it but in reality its a 2004 transit 90bhp! by the time i have got a wheelbarrow full of logs on board men & tools in will deffo be overloaded and i honestly think it would kill the van. Are them grafters 3.5t? i really like canters or them 6.5t ivecos look decent, its just more expense as usual.
  24. So it has being decided then...tracked chipper it is! but now the question is what vehicle to tow it??? transit just will not cut it! i have actually got an operators licence but have never registered a vehicle on it so owt over 3.5t is no issue.
