  1. Just started cutting out, and with a lack of power to the point where it wont cut? starts up again and then the same thing happens? what could the problem be?
  2. I used a little echo a while ago and just seemed really flimsy.
  3. I've had my ms 201t for just under 2 years, during that time it has been agonsingly painful, tedious, slow cutting, slow to pick up! the only good thing seems to be the build quality! however today it has had 0 power when cutting to the point where it stalls, start it again same thing cost just short of £500 to buy, now under 2 years its knackered! i haven't abused it or anything just general use. What top handle is there that wont fall apart or refuse to cut? that will last the duration? the only 1 im looking at is the Husqvarna T540xp, whats it like? pros and cons
  4. How did you manage to purchase that? after about 5 calls and as many emails the dealer still never contacted me! really poor.
  5. Bloody el thats more than i thought, what model was that Hodge?
  6. We get a lot of jobs thrown our way through a lad who does grounds maintenance, i pay him nothing! but in return any gardening jobs i get asked about i pass his name on, we give him a hand hedge cutting if he is in a tow, basically he helps me and in return i help him
  7. I drive a transit so am limited as to the weight i can tow.
  8. only problem is getting the tractor to site. Skid steer can go on the trailer and then away.
  9. Im looking for a machine that is really versatile, that can be used on site if needed to move logs brash etc, in the yard move chip push bonfire pile up, move stillages of logs about maybe power a splitter. The only thing i have seen that i think can do that is a mini skid steer such as a vermeer? Have you used one/ own 1? what are they like to own/ operate. how much do they cost? any help is appreciated
  10. Could you put pallet forks on a small digger and use it to move stuff around? power a log splitter ? they look more versatile than a tractor?
  11. Hi ed I don't take the cage out, just throw them in by hand and tip them at the other end. Although I do know where there is a tippler that I am trying to get in exchange for a bit of tree felling
  12. True that, i think we will get it all split and covered up and wait for the cold weather.
  13. Who is that aimed at?
  14. Johny for £150 i would deliver them in a wheelbarrow
  15. Good advice there Ben
  16. Previous experience has taught me to sell them separately. The bits i have sold in previous years majority of customers wanted hardwood.
  17. I appreciate people saying i should be selling them for £150 a cube, if i was commanding those prices i would give up tree work and go into selling firewood alone. Thanks to the advice i have just altered the price on ebay to £80 a cube + delivery, try from a different angle and see how we go
  18. I didn't go into it its the endless stack of logs we create through tree surgery!
  19. I can guarantee that if i advertise them at £140 around here i will still have them sat in the yard at the end of the winter.
  20. The time it takes us to split a cage + fuel etc i thought i was making a decent bit. Problem is i can easily price myself out of the market, the dearest i have seen them sold at is £80 a cube. if your selling wood in an already saturated area holding high prices no matter how good the product is surely means your wasting your time?
  21. Hi John, problem is by the time we have split them up i could do to shift them as they are taking up too much space, cant win lol
  22. The cage measures 1m wide by 1m high by 1.2 long, i know theirs more in a cage than a bag as we have done both. selling at £60 a cage all hard wood mostly Sycamore/Ash + delivery
  23. Yeah tbh i thought they would sell like hot cakes, but most people seem to not want to pay for them.
  24. This is the first winter i have started splitting logs up and selling them. They are sold in IBC cages that are stacked full, all are below 20%. The few people that have bought them are happy with the size and quality however i am having a hard time moving anymore, most people selling logs seem to be selling half empty bags of crappy unseasoned wood for £30! how do you compete with that.
  25. Theres a large ish Wild Cherry on a site we are working on that i believe has canker, is there any adverse affects it will have on the tree?
