  1. Sorry, I have no idea why I wrote MEWP in the title, must have been thinking about two things at once (dangerous!). Nothing to do with a MEWP, its was just about a tractor! Cheers for the replies.
  2. Can you tow an Ifor type trailer behind an agricultural tractor? For agricultural/forestry activities. Legally not physically is my question.
  3. Well that's sh*t and very sobering. I remember reading about David Shepherd of Theocus arb and thinking the same. Gives you a bit of perspective when stressing about comparatively trivial things.
  4. Amazing set up and all the extras you'd want. Do you know what he's asking for it? I've messaged but a lot of people are off till Monday.
  5. Yes. I'm C1+E, operators license and tacho.
  6. I'm sure I've seen one with a boat on it as well. Was a while back though.
  7. Do you have a link back? I have searched but cant seem to find it. I have seen fifth wheel set ups on pickups (for motorhomes) but these are usually 4t ish trailers with 500-1000kg of the weight on the nose (taking the pickups payload). I wonder if you can run a 7.5t, using its 3t payload and its 4.5t towing capacity? Basically being able to tow a 5t excavator to site with that combo.
  8. I wondered if it was a European thing to cover vehicles like this? 3t tow vehicle and a 9t trailer/load combo. These 'mini artics' would be great in urban environments. Not sure if they are legal in the UK though.
  9. +e is the trailer element. The bit I don't quite get (I understand what it means) is the MAM of 12t meaning a 7.5t vehicle pulling a 4.5t trailer. Is there such a thing as a 4.5t trailer? I've only ever seen the usual ifor type 3.5t then its proper drawbar trailers 12t upwards. Doesnt seem to be anything in between?
  10. It may well be. It would be worth double checking mate. I'm sure many on here know.... Medium-sized vehicles Category C1 You can drive vehicles between 3,500 and 7,500kg MAM (with a trailer up to 750kg). Category C1E You can drive C1 category vehicles with a trailer over 750kg. The combined MAM of both cannot exceed 12,000kg.
  11. Are you asking me? I've not got it yet. So far I've been to Isuzu and Iveco main dealers. They have quite a lot of new or year old stock. My issue (not unique but lesser common) is the LEZ and ULEZ in London. It basically means it has to be Euro6 onwards.
  12. Make sure you have the correct licence to tow anything more than 750kg with 7.5 tonner mate. I think it might be hgv1 you need. I'm sure it's c1+e.
  13. I'd disagree here, so many potential uses - it depends on the work you get. I have a multione 7.3s and it has been a game changer for me. I use it for stacking logs, feeding the chipper, auger out holes for planting, running a chain trencher, sideshift flail for path edges on rights of way, shifting mulch and chip. Sometimes it only 15 minutes but I use it everyday for something.
  14. I've looked a at a couple of Isuzu N75 tipper. Cab is a bit snug but what quite a few are 150bhp. 7.5t loaded towing 3.5t this has to be pretty sluggish? There are some 190s but less common. Any reviews?
  15. Hello, can anyone help with a rough price for supply and install of a fence : closeboard, decent quality, 1.8m/6ft tall. Good access/can get a vehicle to all of it. Roughly level site. Just about 100 metres. In the SE. It's for a funding bid so doesnt need to 100%, just indicative.
  16. Sorry Steve, me getting something wrong. I did it on my phone this time and it worked. I'll try and delete the thread as it's irrelevant.
  17. Trying to put an Ifor on arbtrader. Seems to work and be 'saved' but then isnt on arbtrader or in 'my adverts'. What am I doing wrong?
  18. Its cost me about £1k for my O license. I am on 10 weekly checks which are about £100 each plus any repairs. Insuring a 7.5t has come back the same a my T350 tipper. So overall its going to cost me £500-1000 a year more than the transit it will replace. But as you have said you get a lot capability for your money. The 7-7.5 tonners I have looked at have 3-4t payload and can tow 3.5t at the same time. I do a mix of everything but generally this means I can tow my multione behind and have a 20+ heavy standards/3 ton of ballast or MOT/stems or rings. I do quite a bit of watering as well so its the difference between an IBC at 1100 litres and a 3500 litre tank. When you look at it, you think you are mad and should have done it years ago.... If you are buying new as well you can get a Iveco 72c tipper or Isuzu N75 tipper straight from a main dealer for 33-35k plus VAT. Compared to £25-£28k for a 3.5t transit etc.
  19. Hope I'm not repeating anyone here but I saw this video a while back and thought it was ace. If you did council tree work you'd be powering through them with these kinds of set ups. You'd be finished and off to the next tree by time a standard team has got their rope bags out.
