  8. 21 and 22nd may and its better than llandilo [i think] was going to the welsh game fair with my wife and kids for a few years, but seemed to be the same year after year, the stalls selling the same things, got a bit boring, then started going to the small holder,we love it martyn:thumbup:
  9. the welsh gamefair [llandilo] is a good one! also the smallholder and garden festival [the royal welsh showground builth wells]
  10. i like it why chevin? your either a chub fisherman or its where you live martyn
  11. the boy who passed the assessment and went on climbing to the climbing, was not the moaner,he did not complain once,he loved it:thumbup: the boy who lasted a few days was a little whinger. made me laugh because, they did not know what they were doing until they got on site. when the trainer told them, you are going to fell trees, the moaner was jumping for joy,YES,YES,until he worked for few days in the cold, soon changed his attitude:001_huh:
  12. i found a video tape[remember those]yesterday! my daughter has a tv/video combi,so i put it on and it was a programme that i had taped many years back called HARD LABOUR,it was a discovery real time series. this episode was about forestry,3 unemployed [2 boys/1 girl] were sent on a 2 week forestry course up in a collage in the lake district,1 boy lasted about 2 days and left, the girl completed the traning, but failed the assessment and the other boy got stuck in and passed and even went on to do climbing:thumbup: ANYONE SEEN IT......few years old,but a good show the other episodes in the series were-steeple jack, trawler fisherman etc:001_huh:
  13. seems like it depends on the trainer? i did cs30/31 with class one front protection only and used a 357xp,also did cs38/39 with same trousers
  14. dont think its the power of the saw brian, more like the bar length cs30/31 max bar length 15" the power thing?i used a 357xp on my cs 30/31 the 4 saws to the 4 candidates were (2) 346xps and (2) 357xps:thumbup: on cs30/31 front protection only trousers[type a] are fine, you can even wear chaps all round protection [type c] are recomended for cs39 [climbing]
  15. the 346xp runs on a 1.5 bar and chain as standard, the 1.3 is just a narrow kerf, the chain pitch is the same .325 i would not use a narrow kerf bar and chain on cs 30/31,because the felling bar plate is the same thickness as the standard bar and chain[1.5mm]so if you use narrow kerf [1.3] you may have trouble getting your felling bar into your backcut:blushing:
