  1. NO IT DOESNT.... even if you get your wood for nothing thats to cheap ... all the hard work is the cost element.
  2. Thanks . They are 48x48x90 (.2 m3). Logs vary in size so pointless to say how many logs but 5 bags make one cubic metre.
  3. Words obviously got around how well I season my logs. These birds obviously new that they would not be disturbed for a long long time
  4. ine??? I meant fine ... must have been unwrapping it in my mind
  5. Angelina Jolie for a couple of hours would do me just ine
  6. Before I go outside I rub large quantities of vaseline into my ......... hands then put on the polythene garage forecourt gloves till its soaked in then switch to normal gloves otherwise my fingers crack. E45 at end of day. Just looked in the mirror and said `Ya big puff`
  7. Thank yew very much. Has yew mey have guest last knight eye had a litle two much bear.
  8. Must have had to much beer last night ...pedanticT .. dont know where the t came from but thought that I should rectify in order to maintain the high standards of spelling which we on Arbtalk pride ourselves for
  9. Recent price list SpringFarmFirewoodPriceList.pdf
  10. I was discussing with someone a couple of weeks ago about the palaver that some MEN go to over buying some firewood. They will phone and ask numerous questions and then weeks later still not have made a purchase from anyone. I think it all stems back to the hunter gatherer thing and as they are not chopping and gathering the wood themselves they replace this with being pedantict about buying wood.
  11. In another life I was a petrol retailer .... built owned and operated petrol stations .... when customers complained about shortfalls in product it was so nice to see their faces when I said that all pumps were sealed by weights and measures and they would need to complain to weights and measures who would then break their seals to do the test as it would be illegal for me to tamper with them. It was also very nice to be Head Honcho ... Number One .. The Main Man .. Numero Uno .. so when you encounter those pathetic little worms that bleat and moan about everything and say `Iwant to speak to the manager` and just like the famous Fawlty Towers sketch you say `I am the owner` and that does not compute in their thick little skulls you can just turn around and say that the buck stops here go away and dont come back
  12. About 5 o`clock tonight I was trying to catch my horse ( 17.2 monster who had broken his head collar ) to put in the stable for the night when I got a phone call `How much are your logs` explained the prices and he politely said `thank you very much` and put the phone down. Intrigued as to why he had not bought any I sent him a text explaining our `budget product of grade 2 hardwood` for a lesser price and he text back saying that he had been quoted £45 a cube and would I like to match that .... no mention of quality.
  13. Do you think to save time I should stop brushing down each log individually and stop date stamping each log with a processing date and then maybe deliver in the BMW instead of the overweight transit truck to give a more professional appearance .... I am always willing to learn
  14. I would ask him for Malcolms number cos at £25 a cube for seasoned processed oak and ash you may as well buy from his friend
  15. And easy to deliver with a tail lift
  16. No .... I`m hoping that someone else will be shifting the 600 cube .... and yes I am quickly realising that Barrow bags are hard work ( as I expected to ) but there are many ways to sell logs and I just see this first year as a steep learning curve. When I first thought of selling logs it was always going to be to retail customers because I have 300 potential customers but it hit a bit of a snag. You never know Log Baron one day I may be ordering 3000 nets a week from you
  17. But Steve , your the one thats always saying that people should buy unseasoned so therefore the selling season should, could, be more than six months.
  18. Thats quite a flexible figure on your sales there Steve ( 150 to double ). My target for year one is £60k. Done £13.42 so far
