  1. They will be buying their petrol on a platts plus margin based deal or on an average of competitor marker site prices all of which change on a daily basis due to demand, exchange rates, which oil pipe has just blown up etc etc ... believe me they will only be making around 3p GROSS thats why so many petrol stations have closed. I used to own a company which built owned and operated petrol stations for many many years.
  2. The `greedy Texaco` as you call them will more than likely be working for a gross profit of 3p on that 138.9 sale which they will be selling from their premises in which they have probably invested 800k and no doubt the purchase will be made on credit card with a cut of that 3p going to the credit card company and thats if they can sell it before it contracts in their cold underground tanks after being delivered hot and then evaporating as it moves around all of which the `greedy` petrol station owner will have paid the duty on for it to disappear into thin air.... I am somewhat of an expert in this field
  3. So on that basis I would actually be paid to take the fuel away
  4. Where are the crates situated Scott, we spoke awhile ago.
  5. Dean youve brought me around to your way of thinking ... stop those people using those noisy gas guzzling chainsaws chopping down all those pretty trees that supply oxygen to the enviroment then they wont need to drive their big gas guzzling cars to the tree in the first place
  6. Everyone seems to be talking about the cost of motoring on this thread but the fuel price increase will cause all prices to rise from your food to your saws from the maintenance man who travels to fix your electrics, plumbing whatever, its all transported by road.
  7. AND another duty increase to come in April
  8. And tomorrow that will be 140.9 with the VAT increase
  9. Bagshaws Residential auction in Derby .... I went to look at it around August I think.
  10. Vented bags not builders bags .. on pallets with good air flow 10" logs. In my opinion ash and holly wont burn green and sycamore seasons well within six to nine months.
  11. In your opinion what do you consider the minimum seasoning time to get each of the following species of wood to below 25% (say stored in vented bags covered). And dont be purist and say 12 months to everything. 1. Ash …………. How many months ? 2. Oak…….. … How many months ? 3. Sycamore…….How many months ? 4. Holly ……… How many months ? 5. Maple ……… How many months ? 6. Eucalyptus ….. How many months ? 7. Apple……… How many months ? 8. Hawthorn …….How many months ? 9.Lime………… How many months ? 10. Poplar …….…How many months ?

  14. Good idea. I was going to tie a rope around but rachet strap sounds better
  15. My first attempt collapsed and now I use 2 clips on each corner with numerous plastic ties.
