  7. psuedo plating, decline through dysfuntion of bark boring and the bleeds along with lack of fruiting bodies all indicate armillaria as the secondary pathogen, with the gano I suspect having been over run by the mellea. nice documentaion David, wouldnt mind seeing this site myself

  10. I dont agree, the kids today have no respect whatsoever, especialy for the older members of society THEIR community. We had a bunch making a right raket out here last weekend, at 2 am I had to get out of bed to shout out the window for them to give it a F rest:lol: What one of em said from round the corner nearly had me putting some strides on for a more close up word I can tell you. they left the road full of glass and crap, one lass hitched her skirt and pissed on the pavement in a front garden. So no, faith in the young has to be deserved, not all are rotten, but the rotten are truly so. behaviour is a choice, so are manners. and no if there was a job going they wouldnt want it, I gre up with bums like it, I was one of two guys out of 12 on the gang who worked, the others STILL dont work.
  11. in fact it would appear to be rapid growth in the tension woods due to the lean, a good sign not a bad one. if the tree was forming these on the compression side THEN its time to loosen the load a little.
  12. as scott says, this looks like a growth crack, wouldnt worry too much.
  13. they do, but im so used to it now, changing names etc I just go with it, as long as I keep up the seminars I get to find out what the new names are:lol: had to laugh when at Kew BMS meet the guys says "coprinopsis picacea" im like whats this? lol till he said oh yes your probably all still thinking calling coprinus! No wonder noone wants to take up mycology! worse than rocket science, at least a rockets name never changes!
  14. This book is ESSENTIAL reading and one of my most favourite of books, so really happy to get this one out in circulation:001_cool: Dr Lonsdale is the guvnor:thumbup: enjoy
  15. Another truly great volume for bookclub, been doing o.k recently so really glad to get this one in on the club listing:thumbup1: Sloth and then Rob Rainford first in queue so will be a bit of a wait on this, its an expensive book so expect it to be VERY popular! If you think you can make this one disappear somehow I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN LIKE A DOG!
  16. good info David, I think thats a shame really, as they can be very different in form, like "confistulina" for example.
  17. leave it for now rob, i will sort it out in a legitimate way
  18. love it, its a great protector of young regenerating trees, much like hawthorn is Gorse fills the same role in the process of reclaiming grazing land. an important habitat niche.
  19. lovely shots david.
  20. is there going to be any issues in doing so rob? I mean from a copywrite point of view.
  21. I probably have but not with fruiting to confirm.
