  10. The boss was away in France today so we cracked on and scampered early! which left me time for a mini bimble, best was a walnut i saw with an aged and black hispidus I was passing and thought I would have a peek, thats another job done, walnut with Hispidus done! Also decided to stop by an Oak Ive been having a gander at as I pass by for five years, sat in a field with all the body language of Inonotus dryadeus, ha, darn if I aint the don! bingo. lmao You can just see the old fruit bodies of Dryadeus in the last shot.
  11. I actualy get very little internodal sprouting form what i would term a normal reduction, thats kind of the point, and am more than capable of deciding when to encourage such growth with a harder cut, for example retrenchments. I will be back to this tree as soon as Poss.
  12. This Iodine test ended up in the standard without fully realising what the implications where! I havent heard anything after the BS3998 seminars but it was being looked into to define just how realistic a test and how practical it would be in everyday applications. I would for the time being disregard that bit!
  13. Immature laeti is bright sulphur yellow, easy meripilus call IMO Andrew B, have I taught you nowt kiddo!

  15. Had a little bimble about today, well it ended up as a bimble! was driving through hillingdon, saw a couple of fung roadside and some nice trees that said mmmmm theres going to be others round these parts. Sure enough, not a stones throw, a park "Hillingdon Court Park" well worth a look if you have time. The first five images from Burnham Beeches today, the rest from Hillingdon (London Borough) http://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/media/pdf/f/j/Hillingdon_Court_Park_Management_plan_2010.pdf
  16. Love it, this is truly the way forward, natural or (near natural in this case) solutions to contamination, fungi too have massive contributions to make in this area, I believe the reed Phragmytes and the black walnut have also high metal absorbative capacities
  17. Congrats Felix, good news! Arbtalk is a wonderful thing I totally agree
