  1. And you can't put exhaust fumes on your Rhubarb.
  2. Cool. Reckon you will get Roy to behave himself in it?
  3. Looks good, Matt. Is that the one you were telling me about?

  9. A good sharp knife where it can be easily reached is definitely a good idea.
  10. Thanks for the reply.I thought it was specifically the auto-inflate types you meant. My main thought was the possibility of somebody going in while unconscious and so unable to activate the jacket. With the fixed type, do they not get in the way like an inflated CO2 type would?
  11. Genuine enquiry: What's the problem with them?
  12. When you say working over water, what sort of thing do you mean? Obviously, if you are going to be working over fast flowing or deep water you would need to take different precautions than over a shallow section of still water. I would personally first consider auto-inflate CO2 life jackets in case of anybody going into the water whilst unconscious.
  13. Why did you think he had 3 kids, Daniel?
  14. 5 Our Fathers and 3 Hail Maries.
  15. Xmas eve.
  16. Never one of the unpleasant ones though. Apparently Rupert Murdoch is so bad that not even Death wants him.
  17. Just seen that Liz Smith has died as well. RIP Mrs Mulch.
  18. I've met a few who were certifiable.
  19. Handy little aide memoire or introduction for those whose work brings them into contact with bats. With thanks to Mammal Next Door and BCT. http://mammalnextdoor.co.uk/downloads/BCT-MND_Bats_and_Trees.pdf
  20. If somebody goes out and knowingly puts themselves in danger by substance abuse, why should the rest of us pick up the tab and suffer a second rate service to accomodate a deliberately self-destructive lifestyle? As for children of people who have addictions, aren't they suffering already? Why not give benefits in a form that can only be used for certain types of products, ie no alcohol or tobacco, in the form of a payment card which can only be used with photo id? Either the benefits are currently being misspent so the children are already not being cared for properly or there is sufficient excess to allow irresponsible behaviour which could be spent better on more deserving people.
  21. With regards to payment for use, why shouldn't there be a charge for A&E when it is caused by alcohol or drug abuse? If you can afford to get in that state in the first place then you can afford to pay for your treatment, no? If it's somebody claiming benefits(which must be excessive or they wouldn't afford the drink or drugs), either reduce their benefits or attach a lien to future earnings.
