  1. Aside of the fact that it was dangerous to do that onto a busy road, I reckon that takes some balls to make that jump down that slope, I know we all have our own fear thresholds and we all do different things to frighten ourselves but I'm applauding him, for the first part, anyway.
  2. This is the get out clause for the FC, In a letter to the campaigners, Lord Clark of Windermere, chairman of the Forestry Commission, says: "Synergy with other government policies is a key part of the overall strategy for managing England's forests. This means that there is justification for any woodland where there are mineral reserves being considered in the initial stages of any county minerals plan." It's simply one rule for them, and another for the rest of us.
  3. It could of been, I was told it was a blue smartie Serilously though, I used to get really bad cold feet, chilblains etc; at the time I used to spend a lot of time in wellies, switching to good leather boots, good socks made all the difference. Nowadays, I have 3 pairs of boots, rotating them daily and I never wear anything other than bridgedale socks, expensive yes, but keeping warm and dry is high on my agenda.
  4. I tried that stuff, it did nothing for my cold feet, but I got a huge erection
  5. You could say, she's just chilling, b-boom
  6. This is what a logging horse does on her day off in the snow, zzzzzzzz
  7. I'm amazed that The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is making a fuss about a bit of hard weather, this is natural and something they have coped with for 1000's of years. Far more worrying to me is the effect that man is having on these fantastic social insects. I can only suppose that they are trying to keep bee's in general in the public eye.
  8. Sorry about that guys, I clicked on the link after I had posted and it came up ok. Could I have something on my pc as ever since yesterday evening it has been slower than Moses?
  9. The cheap ones will only make you wish you'd got a good one.
  10. You're nuts matey, but good luck to ya It's the sort of thing I might have done when I was younger
  11. It was a thriving town once, not so any more, I'm still proud of it though.
  12. Very nice, I reckon you could be on to a little earner there.
  13. NO! He is only horrible to me, and it's all because I had the misfortune to grow up in a town that is twinned with Baghdad, I broke free, but he has to keep dragging up the past
  14. There is one problem with Opinels, if you carry it in your pocket and you get soaking wet through of a day, the wood swells, jams the blade and you can't open it, if you need an emergency knife don't rely on an Opinel.
  15. I don't run bonafide courses as such, but if you ever want to come along for a day you would be welcome.
  16. From the looks of that your bearers are concrete so no problem with the weight, I would be inclined to get a couple inches of gravel on it, try and box it at the both ends to stop it from being carried off all the time.
  17. Sorry, did'nt focus on the original post. I personally would not use any sort of wire where horses are involved, imagine the worst case scenario where the wire/weldmesh gets hooked under the back of the shoe and the horse panics trying to get it off. The bearers are the, (usually), two long supports that take the bridge from bank to bank, they will be underneath the foot boards that you walk on. If they are steel RSJ's then I would use a large gravel or scalping's. If not up to the weight, then get some half round or "D" rails and cut them just short of the width of the bridge and screw them in every foot, just like the rungs on a ladder. Drainage is an issue, does the bridge hold water after rain or does it run off, if there is a slight fall make sure you run your rails slightly with it, if the bridge is level think about drilling some small holes or scoring as mentioned in a previous post.
  18. How big is the bridge? Length, width, and what are the bearers made of, wood or steel ?
  19. Did you go see Pirates yes'day, what a score, made my Xmas, they ran out of beer though half time, that was what made me think you might of been there.

  20. I had a good one my friend, I'm like you, I've had enough now, I've been up in the wood today getting a couple of loads out, everything seems a bit tighter than before Xmas though. All the best pal.
  21. Don't you bleddy start as well, it's bad enough having to put up with him from Redruth
  22. You off to Camborne today, ?
