  1. unless timberwolf are takeing that stastisic from the 150 turbo never used one of them so i dunno how much faster the turbo 150 is
  2. depends what your sticking threw them in my experience 150 chips logs alot faster than 125 just for fact its got alot more power wouldnt have said it was twice as fast though
  3. being a good tree worker could be a groundy or a climber dont always need to climb a tree to do tree work
  4. just gotta look at the price lists for stihl and husqvarna stihl r more expensive just look at the 880 vs 3120xp nearly 200quid difference in them
  5. huskys for me because they alot cheaper they cut better and i have more feel with the saw than i do with a stihl personal prefrence really they basically the same just minor differences

  8. well since we all work hard i guessed and noticed at certain events we play hard aswell so thought it would be interesting to hear all your whacky ways to magically cure your hangovers
  9. wudnt no the first place to go to sell it round here we had a 21foot dead straight oak stem no knots bout 2/3foot diameter all way nd would have cost us money for some1 to take it off are hands guess thats y i dont bother with trying sell wood

  12. this lovely laburnum tree in my garden was heavily diseased and finally gave in and split in 3 different ways at the main folk never seen a laburnum as big as this one before, anyone have any thoughts about size of this one???
  13. hi there im currently looking for work in norfolk area im self employed climber/groundsman got all my own ppe, saws (200t,338xpt,husky460,3120xp) climbing and rigging kit. i have all the usual NPTC tickets CS31,32,38,39 also have a couple of first aid certificates ive been working on trees since i left school into my 3rd year of climbing now have my own transport anywork would be much appreciated. my number is 07884158526 or pm me cheers
  14. if we followed all health and safety regs then no one would ever make any money or even get to work the worlds gone crazy people cant even stand on a chair and change a light bulb anymore rediculus as for the having a rescue climber i think the answer is in a ideal world you would have a rescue climber and paramedics and a hospital next door but in the real world esspecially in the finacial state at the moment people find it hard enough to get work without having to add to the costs having someone who has the CS38 isnt worth the paper its written on if you have a accident where by u cant move or do anything for your self you will properly be dead by time anyone gets to you anyways i think minimiseing the risks of being in a accident should be concentrated on more than the fact of you having a rescuer or not

  16. this was my lesson learned dont trust conifer branches cuting and chucking like you were dean and branch i was standing on broke and myself and running saw went flying and i landed ontop of my saw a few branches below lesson was i should have taken 2 minutes to put my spikes on but it was only a little thing thought id be alright but obviously not

  18. cheers for replys guys think u must hav cracked wat it is still couldnt belive how many of them there was in that tre though all like they are in picture all quite big very apple like strange things all i can say
  19. was working on a oak tree today and saw these unusal things growing out of the folage and out of the stem ive never seen this before the oak was covered in them just wanted to no if anyone knows what they are etc
  20. this is the most common way to attach slings just larks foot them onto the branch easy and quick
  21. thanks, its a vio POV1.5 sports helmet camara works really well for anything with helmets but it is very expensive to buy something round 500quid is i remember right
  22. thanks well no one is perfect and never will be but haveing people point out what im doing wrong is good so i can try sort it out and work safely thanks
  23. cheers for the advice didnt think to go otherside of tree ill have to try that out i usually do tie my mainline in but its just cause had that big saw wanted to just do it quick as i could really and my mainline was jst stuck over tree in the gob from the cut before jst to hold some of the weight while groundy was cutting sections up nd handing me back the winch cable and strops etc i still had my lanyard and spikes but ill bare that in mind next time thanks for advice
  24. yer i do agree with you people should wear gloves if useing chainsaws regularly i do use gloves on ground work now but not chainsaw gloves but i think alot of people would feel up tree its properly more dangrous makeing ya self wear gloves and not being able climb as well as if you didnt have gloves on
