  1. Looking to recruit groundsman with ua1 for start of next year. Based in Penistone nr Barnsley. Pm me on here for more info, cheers
  2. Well I'm no expert on insurance matters, but I would imagine the more accidents there are in tree work, the more dangerous it is deemed to be, and so the higher the premiums? And as for h&s matters, it does impact on our industry. They aren't his trees, it's the local cricket ground.
  3. I would imagine so Funnily enough his mate nearly killed himself last year, tried pulling a wind blown ash out of another tree but a big limb was stopping it coming free, so he got out to cut the limb off, bearing in mind he had now put it under massive side tension with the tractor, last thing he remembered was the tip of the bar touching the limb, he eventually woke with the saw on top of him still running with severe head and facial injuries, and lost a lot of blood, to top it off he also ended up with septicaemia from it.
  4. He could just get a 20" bar and problem solved, as long as he left an hinge
  5. I know what you mean, but if he doesn't know to leave a hinge in the first place he isn't going to how to bore the centre out of it. Even so you can only fell 2 and half times your bar length
  6. What hinge?
  7. It's the extra expense on all our insurance and the extra h&s measures we will all have to take when he does kill himself that worries me more
  8. Send me your number mountain man, I'll pass it on to him
  9. What was he going to do if it didn't go over? With a 14" plug in the middle it needs a fair bit of lean to crack that off, with a fair chance of a barber chair, these are bigger than they look in pics, if it barbered and collapsed on its self you're not going to out run it, my point is he has no idea of the things that can go wrong when felling a tree like that
  10. No one hurt yet, the guy is a window fitter, no idea what he's doing, no ppe, but he's got a log burner so all trees are fair game, there were some much worse than this that he felled last year
  11. Nice attempt at a burn up
  12. Few widow makers
  13. Nice hinge
  14. Keep expecting to find someone dead under one of these one day, they are about 90ft tall and upto 40" dia, felled with what looks like a 13" bar, the plug in the middle is about 14" and the ones they have felled so far had enough lean and weight to cause a serious barber chair
  15. Earnshaws at Huddersfield should be able to sort you out
  16. I thought someone had shed their load on the motorway
  17. The rock croft ones are decent but don't stop fine dust
  18. A gaggle of land pigs
  19. I dare say there are far more cars/vans on the road in bad condition and un insured than there are agg vehicles
  20. I'll get you some tomoro if I get chance
  21. Brian James do a trailer for timberwolf with a hydraulic tilting bed
  22. Everyone should have a valtra to love :-)
  23. Is the chain 0.63?
  24. Cucumber tree??
