  2. Just had an email from Sherrill's to say that their catalogue is available to download electronically. Here's the link: Sherrill Download
  3. The Altios is quite different to the Elios Steve. (Elios looks quite basic in design). It seems like all round wearer comfort has been addressed in the Petzl design remit especially with regards to ventilation, with the Climate Control System and the hybrid suspension system (sounds like the spec for a new car!!). See info below from Petzl: The ALTIOS' hybrid suspension system, composed of a mesh panel and expanded polystyrene liner, makes this helmet extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear. Thanks to this innovative design, the helmet ‘floats' above the head for a near-weightless feeling. The space between the head and the liner allows for effective ventilation with the Climate Control System. Durable ABS shell. This helmet is very ergonomic, adapting to any head shape To show you the helmet in action, here's a link (and it'll show you how to get the job done properly! ). Tree Climbing Euro Championships
  4. We had this company visit us last week. We've got a pair of personal ear protectors on order for one of our engineers who is constantly working with grinders etc. Price : approx £120. Very cool alternative to sweaty ear defenders in a workshop environment! He should get them in a couple of weeks time, so will let you know how he gets on with them..... (We can of course offer this product to our customers, )
  5. No muffs and visor with this model. Need to wear specs and ear plugs.
  6. Should have spoken to me before you ordered your half dome - you could have had a free test helmet Clark Blog Other Altios colours: There isn't the option to add muffs/visors to these helmets. Ear plugs/goggles/specs would serve the purpose. These helmets DO conform to the EN standards - top and side impact. Designed for ice climbing/caving. We'll have them in the web shop tomorrow...........
  7. £47.50 (no VAT of course). Available in white, platinum or orange. (Woops - am I allowed to post stuff like this on the main site Mr B??)
  8. Funnily enough we just brought the Altios in to stock yesterday thinking it would be a good helmet to keep 'hot heads cool'! It's a neat helmet and has a suspended net in the inside, so that you don' feel like the helmet is pressing down on your head. And although there is plenty of all round ventilation, if it gets a bit chilly, you can close them off with the velcro pads stored in the liner. see Petzl blurb We were looking for a 'guinea pig' to road test it for us and you might just be the right chap for the job? Only small catch to a free helmet would be that we'd like a bit of good, honest feedback - either through Arbtalk or on our own blog/facebook. Interested????
  9. Think that's where we, (the sponsors) come in - shiny new teeth, 4x4s, 2 weeks in the Bahamas......... his shopping list just goes on.........
  10. Good, good
  11. You're not sooooo far away from the truth!
  12. Our company in 1943 - the local blacksmith's shop........... And here we are in 2009..........
  13. NO COMMENT!!
  14. Cheers Steve - thanks for the feedback. Customers have also commented that they're good when working in the rain, as your vision doesn't go blurry as it does when using regular safety specs.
  15. You're welcome Robert, but don't tell everyone or they'll all want one!!
  16. Not wanting to tempt people away from ArbTalk (sorry Steve:sad:), but here's a forum that some of you may find useful when dealing with diggers/plant etc: OilyHands.co.uk
  17. Our bunded tanks are probably way too big for what you're needing: Clark Bunded Storage Tanks, but if you have a look at the downloads on the web page, you'll see our range of other bunded storage solutions. Not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for, but if there's a demand for a product, we can look into designing and manufacturing. Be happy to provide further details if required.
  18. A sobering find up a tree??
  19. Not sure if Cundy are still in existence, but according to my hubby, these debarkers were popular a fair few years ago. Probably around about £5-10K new, but Jas P Wilson's have one for sale on their site: FOR SALE----CUNDY DE- BARKER.PTO powered,ex estate machine.Very good condition"
  20. Mr Bullman - there will be a wee parcel arriving with you tomorrow - you can decide what you want to do with it??!!
  21. Hee hee - I bet you enjoyed that one Justin
  22. Latest on Stein Helmet adaptor: As you probably all know the first attempt at this adaptor wasn't quite right, but we were advised last week that the adaptor has been remanufactured and should now be perfect. We'll keep you posted as to when they are available. We're hoping it will be within the next week:001_smile:
  23. Hope you're enjoying the 'party' Steve!! Would be quite a 'bash' if it were in the non-virtual world!!!
  24. We stayed at this self catering cottage at Glenshiel a couple of years ago. Beautiful accommodation and dogs are welcome. Scenery from the lounge was fantastic - Five Sisters of Kintail as a backdrop behind Loch Duich - stunning! Only a half our drive across to Skye and yes, a meal at The Three Chimneys is a culinary delight. Accommodation also available at Three Chimneys, but pricey. The drive through Glencoe is amazing. You won't regret a trip north! Have fun!
