  1. I'm always doing that!
  2. Thats stronging it a bit in my opinion,I mean, your far from handsome!
  3. Yep,& that would make a lot of difference to people who feel negative about the product.
  4.

<p>Just browsing at the bikes for now,but if the right thing comes up I will grab it!</p>

    <p> </p>

<p> I'm going to stick to a jap bike as they tend to hold up better in the long run,& parts are cheaper,oh,unless I see a very nice CCM!<img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin.gif.7a0f8b614f45b8779b9dba9cfd28c239.gif" alt="" /></p>

    Saw Purchase:)

Modern saws are pretty good from the off, just dont rev it flat out when its not in wood, when cutting use full throttle but try not to slog it hard in big wood,I always run a new saw normaly for a few minutes, then let it tick over for half a minute to disipate heat, turn it off to let it cool a bit, then back cutting again. couple of tank fulls & it will be bedding in,four tank fulls & give it hell! Its not great to run them at half throttle when cutting,as they can run lean on fuel.
  6. <p>Thank you Chris!<img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001_smile.gif.85de4dbf571682c521c1f17809dcc557.gif" alt=":001_smile:" /></p>

    Saw Purchase:)

Depends to some extent what you will use it for, with a 12 inch bar it will cut fast,& no real risk of touching your toes with it,(a common injury when snedding). If you intend to cut logs over 10 inch diameter, then go for the larger bar,if you are long in the leg I would go 15'' anyway, the saw will more than pull it. They are a very fast saw, your in for some fun with it!
  8. Sounds like your wife knows all about getting cracks filled in,I would ask her!
  9. Thats rough mate, but if they want it they will take it,half the trick is no one knowing its there in the first place. I hope you get it back,or paid out in full for the loss.
  10. Top stuff Chris!
  11. 'if they can’t sell for less why is alkylate price comparable to petrol in other countries.' (Quote) Husqvarna sell genuine Aspen in europe. their 5litre cans seem to be retailing at 22 euros in France Stihls motomix appears to at 22 euros in germany And our Aspen is 21 euros here. (quote from Gardenkit). Mypost,(203), It would seem Sweden got a tax break from the ec in 2002 for Aspen type fuel, that could well be why they are cheeper.
  12. Regarding the cost of aspen is this of interest? http://register.consilium.europa.eu/pdf/en/02/st11/st11779.en02.pdf
  13. Have a great time Jon!
  14. What a fantastic tree,almost ghostly. Great post,thanks!
  15. Try reading the link I posted, just as an example of the info out there,if you dont wish to read it all try skipping to the conclusion. Bear in mind this is for forestry,as an arborist there may be a higher or lower level of exposure.
  16. Workers using chain saws (and brush saws) are exposed to benzene and 1,3-butadiene which are considered to be known human carcinogens. Very few chemicals are so classified. Polyaromatic hydrocarbons, several of which are suspect human carcinogens, are also in the exhaust mix as is carbon monoxide. Available data suggest that exposures to these substances may reach unacceptable levels under some working conditions. The sum of excess cancer risks (without an estimate for PAH or other suspected genetic toxicants in exhaust) is estimated to be on the order of 10-3 to 10-5 (one chance in 1,000 to one chance in 100,000). As time-to tumour (latency) of benzene, and differences among individuals in metabolizing benzene are better defined, risk estimates may change. the whole article ,(pdf).http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/hfp/publications/00012/3-Dost-PowersawEmissions.pdf
  17. One big thing for me is that 2 stroke engines use oil in the fuel, the engines are not good ab burning all the fuel & oil,the oil emited from the exhaust also holds some fuel unburnt,if this fuel has Benzine & the likes in it,we are ingesting this on a daily basis, the implications to our health are widely publicised. Whilst I consider pump fuel to be plausible for use in modern four stroke engines/cars etc,the use in hand held tools & more so 2 strokes,is a real threat to our health, take time to search for reasearch into this, its not a sales pitch, its a reality.

    Saw Purchase:)

Fr Jones is very competitive, there are a few dealers in the right hand add column wort a look, click on them to hit their websites.
  19. Absolutely,it would also get more people using it. Its a great product, with plausible reasons to use it,but distribution & price are a big holdback for some, must be a marketing nightmare.
  20. Very sad.

More nice pics Matt, keep em coming mate!
  23. The supplier point I agree with, but I do think the more that use it,the more widely it will be available, this also might help on price. I use it,it does cost me more, but I just price it into my costs so the client pays,I have not noticed any loss of work through this,in all honesty I dont realy notice the added outlay. I am lucky to have a dealer conveniently located,& that has a direct impact on my choice to use Aspen,as I dont want to have to store it in bulk, though if I had to,now I have used it for a good while,I would make provision for storage.
  24. Good post Gardenkit, wish I could put things so succinctly.
  25. What I dont get is what have people got against Aspen, some choose to use it,(I do),some dont. We know it comes at a premium,& that gets rammed home all the time,(yawn),we know that it exposes us to a lot less potentialy harmful emissions, thats about all there is to it,& thats why some countries make it a legal requirement to use in petrol hand tools. The latter being the case,I wonder what the savings will be to the health services if it were law in this country, see, the arguments can go on & on,fact is its (in this country) freedom of choice, why try to influence that if you have no vested interest?
