  1. did i see a pulley saver in your skinny beech vid and am i right you have to climb up to install it? could you have set up like this to have an easier climb to the top or even have been cutting on the way up ps i know the point of the srt it was the only way i could think of to describe the rope with the pulley bit

  4. no my hitch slipped down until it met my foot luckily about two meters from the ground but the lads couldnt help me for laughing

  6. fair one i use the pezl hand accender with an endles strop to put my foot in (pantin hung me upside down never liked it since) any way the hand accender on the line means that even if the hitch slips it only stops at the accender and you can use both hands at the same time below the pulley
  7. do you not find that a bit restrictive when going up i ues an endless strop between mine which alows it to be almost out of reach while going up i can then half it once in the tree then i can still pull down rather than having to pull up if you see what i mean just curious how other people use them
  8. the pulley savers that i've seen can't (i think) be instaled/retrieved from the ground but i could be done as i described i think only came to me tonight i will try it out next time i get chance
  9. you wont need them if my srt idea works cheers for planting the seed
  10. just had a flash of insperation (as you do) to do the whole friction saver instalation thing here we go instal a line for an srt setup but on the end of the line fit a friction saver pulley then set up your hitch climber and line through it ready to use. pull the srt line and pulley up to the desired height lock it off hey presto no friction no climbing up to instal a friction saver jobs a good un dose this make any sense? thoughts please

  15. i was worried taking the one we used to hire over kerb stones is the ground very uneaven? might have a bearing on which machine to use

  19. its amazing how much more confident it makes you up a tree we did a 6 Ha birch and big scots mix clear fell round christmas sharpens you up
