ive got a little cheek piece bag on my 243 mainly for the extra height and because the a5 stock is slightly uncomfortable but the bag part is very good for keeping a strip of rounds in, although they are not on show they are zipped inside, i also have a keyring led torch in there which has been usefull an odd time when i just stayed too late or shot right on dark. i dont care about 'tactical' or 'cool' ive had endles bits and bobs and i have seen endless gizmos, bullets on the stock is very handy when you need them in a hurry or you changed ur jacket at the last min.

the 22 is like the a5 but lighter and smaller on the front end sweet as for rabbiting out the car window the mod cover i cant remember but it dose help with the reflection you shouldnt strugle to get one also helps stop noise if branches hit it.

seeing as ive got nothing better to do my border 243 akley, A5 stock pillar beded, jewel trigger, border cut 5r fluted 26 3/4barrel, 11 degree crown, nightforce 5.5-22x56, t8 mod my .22, border cut rifle barrel, custom hand made stock, pillar beded, match chamber, then my 30-06 also a border barrel, hs precision stock. leupold 8.5-25x50, t8 (not on it in pic) think i see a pattern forming in there

yes it an a5 mine has an eagle cheek piece from riflecraft on it great little bag to keep your rounds in while youre out

pics arn't very good but they are greyish top one creamy about 3-4" tall slight 'cap' over the top and concaved under that i kind of think 'Phellinus tuberculosus' but only bacause its the only one i can see any likenes too

my dad used to be a forest ranger and did a lot with school parties and such when he was taking them on nature walks he would tell them that adders lived in the area (this got their attention) he would then tell them that if you were quiet the adders would not be scared and would sneak away, but would attack things that scared them (like noisy kids) this worked flawlesly every time and he showed them fox cubs deer badgers and all maner of creatures they would not have seen. (p.s. he did tell the teachers he would be doing this and why first.) the key to the whole children teaching thing is to get their attention at the begining then they will get more from the experiance IMO perhaps you could do something dramatic at the start or tell them that you will ask them a few questions at the end and give them a prize if they are right (might help make them pay attention) only a thought:biggrin:

get in touch with your local college or training place and ask them what they recomend, i dont think you need to do all the tickets again, more of a day with a instructor going over them all so youre up to date?

you need a good head torch but the best bit for me was not having to jump out of bed in the morning, you go to bed when you get back and wake up some time in the afternoon and have the rest of the day to get ready, fix saws, go shopping whatever! its great

cheers my fave reductions are cherry or similar trees that have been badly done/pollarded in the past i love re shaping and thinning them back to some sort of tree like existance, removing phototrophic shoots and the like its a good sence of satisfaction when it looks (all be it slightly thin) like it will be a nice tree again. -

i have mine:thumbup: but you are right there is a lack of knowledge but while i may have been incorect i did take my advice from a relativly recent book and i will now be updating myself with a new book it also shows the need to constantly keep up to date and that refreshers every five years are a good idea i also think it shoud be highligted that you should not just belive everything you read on here. you should use it as a guide then do some reaserch to make sure

you mean this one Treeimagineers Hitch Climber - Treeworker.co.uk there great i love mine, but they have to be used properly (imo) i've seen people climb to the top of a tree then pull the slack through thats not good:thumbdown:
