  1. ... or did you just forget to take any? If the piccies are on your PC, then when you post click the paperclip icon for attachments, click browse and find the folder where your piccies are languishing, select the best one nad then either double click or select save. It's pathway should now be visible in the AT popout box. Attach any more in the same way. Then click upload and wait for ages, go make a cup of tea or something and eventually you will see a list of what you have, hopefully, now uploaded. Close the popout, type your message, preview your post, edit as necessary, submit and wahay! we have your piccies.
  2. "No to small" It might catch on in the dog racing world, though
  3. Aw, when I read the title I was expecting pretty ponies, not something as practical a saw horse with built in beer cooling device
  4. More than likely, but at least most humans are capable of making the choice of whether they wanted experimental treatment?
  5. Wouldn't want to be your pet either
  6. No, far from it. Like most people, I have had various beloved pets over the years and have sometimes had to make the heartbreaking decision to do what I think is in their best interests and have them "put down". The quote from the article "Fitzpatrick admits that he has become a last hope for desperate owners who have run out of options for their beloved pets..." sums up my problem with this kind of thing in that it seems to be for the OWNERS' benefit and the longterm welfare of the pet involved comes second to that. Also, I feel a little guilty that I initially laughed at the poor lil' thing .
  7. Whaaa...??? A natural born hunter confined to a house with effectively two open wounds for the rest of it's life NOT wrong? Gawd, I'd hate to be reincarnated as one of your pets.
  8. Oscar the bionic cat after pioneering surgery gave him TWO false back legs | Mail Online Is it me or is this simply WRONG WRONG WRONG??? (No comments, please, about me reading articles from The Daily Mail )
  9. Good point The tree's life expectancy will be shortened if it is Ustilina (none of these new fangled re classificationed names for me!) but it will provide fantastic new colonisation oportunities for various other bugs n' beaties. All comes down to the tree's location and targets. Even in a reasonably high target area, it could still be posible to keep the tree as a pollard for a few years. Temporary pass from that place under the rock granted .
  10. My first thought was Giugnardia, but without piccies that's just a guess. This may help: Forest Research - Bleeding Canker of Horse Chestnut - Other common pest and disease problems of horse chestnut
  11. The pyrethroid deltamethin is extremely effective, but it is also highly toxix to everything else it comes into contact with . BT (Bacillus) is more specific, but not quite so effective. IF you do decide that spraying is the option that you are going to opt for, the dead critters still need to be collected and incinerated. Edit - Oops, looks like I posted at the same time as MonkeyD!
  12. Have you tried any of the large, LA fix term Contractors that operate around that way? Ok, so perhaps it's far from ideal, but it's still payed work if nowt else is available. I know G&T have an office based down that away. Their standard of work is pretty good, but I don't know about their pay rates, etc. I can send you a contact name and number for them if it would be of any help to you.
  13. My temp. LA contract has just come to an end and I'm now looking around for survey / inspection work, preferably in the NW London area. I'm still PAYE, but contemplating going SE again. If there's anything available, I can email / PM my up to date CV over. Jane.

    Beech fail.

What are the brackets in the first piccy?
  15. Interesting interview tecnique!!! Would have loooooved to have seen the panels' faces Good luck and, hopefully, welcome to the darkside.
  16. Does said lumpy stuff look anything like this? The pics are of Ustilina (syn. I can never remember how to spell the updated name. Something begining with Kr... ) on an old Beech stump. If it IS what you have see, then 'tis bad news has it has a seriously weakening effect as it destoys both cellulose and the lignin. If it's not what you have seen, ummm... Daldinia p'rhaps?

  18. Quit ya whinging - I thought I was being really civilised by not txting you at about 6am when I was first on site Because I didn't get an INSTANT response, I wasn't sure if you'd got the piccy or not. Being on your jollies in the gorgeous county of Cornwall is a poor excuse not to reply to me
  19. Not a picure, but this may be of interest to any orchidophiles : WELCOME

  23. OK, so they may not even be considered big-ish (the larger tree is only c. 6m x 8m), but they are definately "Aurea"; there's no mistaking that awful chlorotic colouring! They're in Hanger Hill Park W5, if you are ever stuck on the A406 North Circular you'll be able to see them
