  1. Nip it in the bud i say! Anyway, back on thread() i will endeavour to be there too steve, but i am peaking at 702kbps download at the mo, and sometimes struggle to pass 450kbps, so at those times i cant even get on arbtalk. A tad annoying one might say.........
  2. Wasnt meant as rudeness- sorry for any offence caused:biggrin:
  3. Its ok Dave- i have informed the chief high llama, and Liams account will be closed on arbtalk forthwith for serious loyalty infractions......
  4. Good job I reckon. I bet it is a tree owned by / cared for by a housing association; these set ups are more common on the continent than over here, and arent just reserved for the needy or elderly as is often the case in the uk. That being said, i reckon the spec was to repollard, and i reckon he did a pretty good job. In the last few seconds it gives a shot which doesnt look too out of shape, and given that it is in some sort of courtyard affair then i bet light levels in the flats was the goal for the job. The shampoo ad hair thing......if you have dreads like he has, thats pretty much the form before trying to put a hat on......I had them once in a former life..
  5. IMHO that is Crap. I think you need a new GP or your gp THINKS he is a sports therapist mate. If you had had really severe tennis elbow you would know that it isnt knotted tendons, but damage through tearing and stretching and eventually the tendons come detached from where they are attached to the bone in extreme cases. (That is from the physio that is the team physio for Plymouth Argyll F.C. BTW) And a qualified GP told you to hold bags of beer up in the air????WTF:001_huh:
  6. Nero is great, and can be found here:Nero - Nero 9 Lite ? download
  7. And he wonders why they wont let him out......
  8. Well never mind being the FIRST to say it, do i qualify for the 'New Year Johnny-come-lately' award....only now feeling remotely human.... Happy new year you lot!
  9. Be very careful of painkillers too. This was my downfall. I was earning really good coin and didnt want to miss out so i loaded up on painkillers and one day i was using a lump hammer and something gave way, and i couldnt make a fist for about 4 weeks.
  10. This is true. They are the best MT with road manners out there IME, and i have tried loads of them. Ill be ordering a pair for the front by the end of the month.....providing the work front carries on the way it is now and some unpaid bills get chased that is! Otherwise i will be getting down to the wear limits on the front tyres! I usually change at about 25% left, as they are pretty useless off road after that. Cant wait for the new ones. Dave- you will have to come over with the ranger and show me the mk2's when you have them:thumbup1:
  11. Ran up a lot of debt:laugh1: No, seriously, i did run up a lot of debt, but i changed the way i worked. I took on employees and did more sawmilling and just tightened up the bellt a couple of notches. I had had a very good run which actually caused the tennis elbow the preceding couple of years, so had a good bit to fall back on. That is now all gone and more besides, a couple of years down the line. That is why i say take time off now before it is too late.
  12. Yeah- got so bad that my hand wouldnt work after a while, forcing nearly a year off work. Get down to a good physiotherapist who will treat it with ultrasound or laser and get a proper sports support off the physio or direct Elbow Support - Vulkan Tennis Elbow Support and rest up properly, or you wil have a long long time off work and permanent injury (my arm will never be right again). The physio will give you some remedial excercises too. Hope this helps.
  13. Here is just one pic of the other stem which i milled yesterday.:001_smile:Its about 28" wide at the narrow point.
  14. Thats a fine looking chopper you have there Hamadryad.
  15. Well, you learn something new every day here!!
  16. Oh come on mate, you must be pished still:laugh1: Seriously, that does almost look, dare i say it, good!!
  17. They are flippin awesome mate. I have one of those Stihl Billhook things and that tool keeps that as sharp as foook. You can hold it edge up and slice paper on it with minimum pressure after sharpening. I was introduced to them earlier this year and i am telling everyonme about them they're so good. I think they are only about £25 too.
  18. I reckon opinel are tough to beat, but althoug its not what you asked, i feel the need to draw your attention to what i think could be the very best sharpening tools there are SWISS ISTOR SHARPENER
  19. Nowt wrong with weaver harnesses- i have one, but not the one on ebay, which i personally think looks awful. As Brian says, they are like wearing the sort of harness a carthorse would be atached to the cart with, but if klike me you have serious lower spinal problems (missing discs and vertebra out of line) then it is a great harness. If you are a fit bloke then go for something lighter like a petzl. You think what you would spend getting that weaver- its more money than alot of UK harnesses anyway. Above all though, i have to agree with what others say- get your tickets first and try out a few harnesses. Your instructor will probably be equipped with several.
  20. That all makes perfect sense to me Mr S.
  21. Do you mean full chisel chains, eg rapid super stihl etc? If so then yes- on all saws other than the mill ripping chain and the top handles.
  22. Never pr oiled a bar or chain, and i have just changed a bar that was years old only coz the width of the grooves had increased a load. I am certain that i was told on my cs30 that you either always grease the bar nose or never- but dont start greasing it then stop or vice-versa. Is there any point in 'bedding in' a bar and chain as the bar will see loads of chains before it is worn out, and i am sure you have several loops for each bar made up anyway dont you?
  23. Couldnt see any pics, but its a very nice website Ed.
