  2. As usual there's confusion and conflicting advice on what should be a simple issue. Gotta love British law! Personally, I'd just email the TO with a photo and go with what they say (even though it's pretty obvious that the hedge won't be TPO'd). Here anything over 75mm at GL needs notification regardless... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. I've just sold about 12t of over sized beech for about £200 (in 3m lengths). Many people see my lorry leaving full of timber and think I'm making serious money on it. It just not the case esp with Arb waste. My view is if I can get more than £30 per t I'm doing very well. Too much work in the big stuff, so much has of it goes on the pulp wood pile if there's no local takers. Value of wood starts low and increases every time it's move or handled. Good luck with it. Also where are you? Sent from my S50 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. I think fires (or the issue of deliberately damaging the tree) is a different issue. The decision should be made on the evidence presented at the planning meeting, it appears this time the TO, unfortunate got it wrong. Of course we never really know how often trees that may last for years are felled on safety grounds... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Good strong truck the TM. I nearly brought one, but the sheet couldn't get it through an MOT! Shame. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. I think I have something that might do, I'm near Chepstow. I'll have a look on the weekend of you're interested. Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Seems amenity has taken priority over safety. Third opinion should have been sought. Good survey report I thought. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. I think Haironyourchest has an unusual attitude to first aid. For the record I have a friend who lost both legs applied CATs and celx commanded and fire fight for 30 mins before he got any assistance, it's highly likely he would have died without either. I don't understand your reluctance to use something that we know WILL save someone's life. I've also personal experience of people sustaining major arterial bleeds and remaining conscious. Hemeostatic agents work, they save lives! End of. Things like quickclot are old news compared to celox... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. I heard new years raffles are better anyway. Good work and happy Christmas! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Nice set up, is that about 90hp? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. You need to get celox in against the bleed, so that would prob not work. If I saw bubbles or frothing, I'd prob not use it in a neck, I'd try and find the end of that artery and pinch and hope help arrive PDQ. As long as you don't stuff celox in the airway I expect the surgeon can undo and dramas... You'd need serious medical assistance, I suspect death is quite likely with a chainsaw wound to the neck. Work position and drills... Home for tea and medals! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Too right, best to go home and complain about back ache! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Once you have put the CAT on leave it on unless you're a surgeon etc. Chances are the bleed will restart. Why go against current medical advice, you look a right when trying to sort the same wound out twice... Not sure on using celox on the neck, I think you'd need to be pretty sure that you won't block any vital tubes! Only really dealt with 1 serious neck injury, and I got my fingers in there and pinch the artery until my medical finished the the other more severe injuries and moved up the body. Limbs are fairly simple, to deal with. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. If you've got a casualty with a catastrophic bleed, the golden hour is pointless, they'll bleed out in minutes and die. If you need a hemostatic agent, you need it ASAP. So what if there is a problem in 10 years? If you die without blood, ,days, weeks, months etc are irrelevant minutes matter. You don't use this stuff for sh*ts and giggles, you use it keep some alive not on anything other than a real mega gusher. As a side note I had a friend who got battered by a tree (very seriously injured but no external bleeds), it was well over an hour before a paramedic got to him, 2.5hrs until any proper treatment. The nearest ambulance station was 20mins walk away. Lesson, don't rely on anyone else until they are there and response times will be slower than you would like. 15. Thanks Dean, but the Holder's a bit large for me. I expect it'll go pretty quick thoughts looks quite tidy. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. That would be great. That's my next question, anyone know if any for sale, ideally with a loader? Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

    Warn 9.5ti

    Warn 9.5ti

I've got a Warn 9.5ti on my land rover, which has given up. I assume it's the motor but it could be the solenoid, I. Don't. Know a great deal about electric winches. Does anyone have any experience, or know where I can get a new motor from (the ones I've seen in the UK are about £450)? TIA. Mark Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Tom, what size is yours? It looks bang on. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Looking at Tim D's videos, that's what I want! Looks very useful. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Hopefully, I'll find something pretty soon given its nearly Christmas. Is there much difference in terms of quality,. I like the look of the bcs and pasquali ones. Not so sure of the atg, but I'm not basing that on any experience or facts! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Thanks for the comments. I'm thinking of around 40hp, may a bit more, so not as big a some. The loader will be used for moving brash with a grab, moving chip and logs and occasionally moving bags of logs. So I think a fork lift mast wouldn't quite be what I want just now. All useful fed back, but I imagine finding one is going to be a tough! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Bit of a revival here. What are people's thoughts on loaders fitted to alpines? I'm currently looking for a compact with a loader, but think an alpine, may be a better job. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Tell you what we've some stuff to learn over here, using cranes, hitches on the front of trucks, whatever next. Well bugger me sideways, I'd never! Mind you with all that going you may need a unimog for the tools and spares... Steve love the set up, bad day when I worked out your old one would quite fit my business requirements - properly gutted! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. My land rover has cost a fair bit this year in repairs, but it's done over 200k. While chip box volume is less than a transit, ime it carries the weight better, tows better and has a low range box. That being said it's slow and leaks water into the cab. But 3 days out of 5 we need to go off road and a transit couldn't get close. So I've got no choice really. Depends what you want to do next with it. The 3.5T truck thing is all noise anyway, doesn't matter if it's a land rover, transit or whatever, you'll be over weight before lunch on most jobs... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
