  1. The chainsaw bar can be a bit of a pain to sharpen, but you can always swap the loop over very quickly on the day and sharpen a spare or two at your leisure - you need to be double jointed with five foot arms to sharpen my Farmi insitu! Cheers Steve
  2. Hi Dorset Logger Try giving Kim a call on 07876348465 I think he may have one going. You'll have to travel for it though,it's up near me!! Cheers Steve
  3. Excellent - can't think of a good reason not to have one! Are the rams from the loader,or are they the original tilt rams? Looks really good, expect the cost of second hand dumpers to go up even higher now:001_huh:
  4. Yeah,I can see that - did you use a rear loader or the normeal foreloader. I think that you could mount some three point linkage pins on the dumper and fit either as required - look forward to the pictures Cheers Steve
  5. Hi Dylan Did you choose to fit a loader instead of a forklift mast for any reason - like the little Benford forklifts? Cheers Steve
  6. Curtis I'll echo what Nepia said, had mine for just over a year and well happy with it,but could really do with a spring loaded "detante"(i think) or similar to retain the handle -got an R clip on mine, but an auto-locking system would be better. Cheers Steve
  7. I think someone pointed out that one of the best was an old low technology petrol car kept maintained and running for 20yrs...avoids all the manufacturing, electronics, scrappage damage, plastics etc... just doesn't work for an economy based on selling unnecessary rubbish to folk to keep the money circulating.... Very well said, and it ain't only cars:thumbup1:
  8. Cheers Treequip and Rover Dropped the tank out today, after being told it had been drained for "safety" reasons on the airfield - and found 70 litres of cherry - bonus!! although this means I've got to fix the fuel gauge as well. First pic is how it came to me - dont think the water tank had any baffles! All seems to run OK and the only damage has been taken by the outriggers, which have now been replaced. Just got to swap the body with my current 110 over from the front bulkhead back, and get some green paint!
  9. Cheers Treequip my only concern about the papertrail is that I also buy about £30.00 of cherry a month for my chipper and tractor - just concerned that it wouldn't look too good - although hardly big time ! Will sort some pics....erm when the missus does the technical bit.....fire engine had a slight roof/runway situation going on,so it ain't pretty! Cheers Steve
  10. Has anyone got any experience of flushing red diesel out of a fuel system? I'm putting an ex-airfield 110 fire engine on the road (as a chip truck) and it's been run on red,now obviously need to run on white. I'm changing the tank anyway as it has a leak, but otherwise just thinking of fitting a new filter and letting customs and excise know about the date of the change, can anyone offer any more advise? Cheers Steve
  11. The stainless steel bolts, although bigger, won't be as strong as the originals if they were high tensile steel, stainless will shear off under far less force - dosen't help you get them out though!
  12. Using a Ford 4600 ,but not sure what the red usage is because between the dodgy gauge and the leaks its hard to tell!
  13. Cheers Scraggs, found out this morning,110ftlbs - all up and running now
  14. Not a bad idea, suspect it may not be the end of my troubles! Cheers Steve
  15. Hi Scott Might be worth having a word with John at Gumtree's at Ditchling, don't think that they would do it,but might well know someone who will. Cheers Steve
  16. Do any of you kind gents happen to know what the cylinder head bolts should be set at,and the correct sequence, head gasket just decided to do a dissapearing act! Cheers Steve
  17. Thats a fair load, agreed that the A frame could do with a little beefing up,but looks good and strong otherwise - now to find one that the horse pee hasn't taken over the edge! The thing with my little ifor is the 10" wheels and auto reverse brakes make it impossible to reverse when the going gets sticky - not so good going forward either - the big wheels have got to be better,do most horseboxes have auto brakes,or can they be overridden at the coupling? Cheers Steve
  18. Yeah, thats me - although I think tree surgeon might be stretching it a bit, more glorified(!) leylandii removals ! I might be on the lookout for a new yard myself soon - be interested to hear how you get on with the planning/change of use business, lots of under used agri land around here If you do have to shift it I'm sure that Tery will be able to sort you out. Cheers Steve
  19. Tim Just sent a PM with details of a mate who may well be able to help out. I'm just at the top of Stone Quarry - so pretty local yeah !! It's a fine looking stack of wood that for sure! Cheers Steve
  20. Hi Tim Is that the good stuff stacked up by the Coach! Have you tried Turners,if not I can dig their number out, they may be able to help Cheers Steve
  21. great for logs - pretty good for woodchip too, just keep an eye on the handle, keep having to dig for mine !
  22. looks really good - what size wheels/tyres does it use? I've been thinking of doing the same with a sankey, but the road legal load weight must be much better on a horsebox,I was a bit nervous about only having the one axle anyway! Cheers Steve
  23. Sweet.....thanks very much for that
  24. I just stamped one up for my old series one many years ago - but would that be acceptable nowadays - or does the vehicle need to be inspected by the DOT or whatever they are called now? Cheers Steve
  25. Excellent ! sounds like the plate doesn't often get changed then! Cheers
