  1. There used to be a company called browning logging in the first 4 series. The owners sons step daughter was mauled to death by a dog. She was only 4 years old.
  2. Cheers Jon. The towns lost a couple of really old stone bridges through the night.
  3. It's Keswick. The water is coming over the wall and flood defence and across the road. Mothers house is on the right of the picture.
  4. Hi Jon. Yep it's some form of glass or Perspex. They added it as part of a flood defence a few years ago. It's done well until the river went over the top of it. Can't believe how much rain we've had. Hodge, mother was evacuated at 11am. We've been told the river has gone right through the house now. Not looking forward to tomorrow.
  5. My mothers house is on the other side of the road from the river !
  6. Ffs Johnny. Steve will of put a lot of time in getting arbsafe up and running and if 1 piece of equipment is returned to someone that some scum has nicked then great ! Some businesses are unfortunate enough to have equipment nicked no matter how secure it is locked away and if someone is unlucky enough to of left something in the back of the van or on the side of a road etc by mistake doesn't make em slack arsed, we are all human !
  7. Reduce a touch more and brace the 2 stems or pollard like Mick said, both will retain the tree for you and the wildlife.
  8. It's on arbtrader.
  9. It's the same in Keswick. Looked at a few that are turning brown loosing needle quite quickly although the tops are very green with plenty on new growth. There was a spruce beetle around that caused this a good few years ago, it might of returned ?

    Ticks

Yep, definitely keep an eye on her. The doctor should take tests and send them off to be tested in a lab, although Europe test more thoroughly as the tests we do don't always show the Lyme disease. If anyone does have it, it gets progressively worse month by month starting with a rash, not necessary where the tick was, then flu like symptoms then you can feel totally fine for a few weeks then it comes back again and can cause all sorts of problems. Not wanting to be a scaremonger, but it can be very serious.
  11. We've had our 230vtr a couple of weeks now. Always had the 150vtr chipper but this machine is is a credit to timberwolf ! The new wider throat and strong roller power just pulls everything in without snedding it, saves a lot of time and frustration. Maintenance is so much easier (grease bank and easy access to blades etc) and two speed tracking is great and with much bigger tracks it gets into places our 150 wouldn't of. All in all a great machine. Good to know your impressed as well Hodge.
  12. Ours in bed !!
  13. Didn't know you'd sold it for cash. If it went through your books you would of been.
  14. If you don't use all the money you sold your old chipper for you will be taxed on it as it will be income, 30% ish, unless you spend it on something else. If you use the money for your new chipper it will be tax deductable as it is a business asset ? (I think)
  15. Yep, it's an amazing place to live ! The pics were taken this summer. The lakes now flooded with all yesterday's rain and they had to evacuate the campsite at the end of the lake this morning at 2am !!
  16. Around Derwentwater, 5 minutes from our house.
  17. Found all these on a birch today.
  18. What's with the long face !!
  19. I went to wm plant at Carlisle who had it on demo today. Nigel who is timberwolfs sales demonstrator went through all the features of the new machine (lots of improvements) I'm very impressed, especially how much easier it will be to maintain it. Easy access to the blades (double sided) and anvil etc and a central grease system on the side of the machine which pipes grease to the bearings and rollers. Trailed available now, tracked available for the apf and they are hoping to have a vtr next spring (hopefully), that should please you Hodge. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. I've heard the new timberwolf will have a tracked version available around November but don't think they are going to have a vtr as the body of the machine is wider than the 150 is now and so won't be able to narrow the tracks in very far. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  23. It said in the report the tree was 200 year old ?? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
