  1. Yep. Depressing as heck.
  2. Gosh what a shock. Very sad. RIP Sir. I don't mean to sound "off" but does it seem that loads of the "golden oldies" are dropping like flies at the moment?!
  3. Do I really need to say what the weather's doing?! Lets just say there's no sunshine or clear sky and no drought to be found.
  4. Eat my soot!!! Brilliant
  5. I think you're right mate. Been to Topsham today and on most of the other occasions I drive east up the a38, the rain drops off dramatically once nearing Newton Abbot. Plymouth and the west side of the moor where thee and me are gets the worst of it. I grew up in Gloucester, nice and dry there as the s/w prevailing comes up the BRS channel and splits off, mostly into Wales. Fond memories of crisp cold winters, baking hot long summer days, lots of light, April showers and autumn twilight...
  6. My thoughts exactly. If I knew for definite that this weather would be the norm here for the next 20 years, I would definitely emigrate. All this positive attitude stuff is a piece of nonsense when you've got machinery on finance and it's been parked up for months... It's hitting loggers very hard down here.
  7. Great laugh, thanks for posting lololol
  8. I do, I am a Redline dealer, happy to supply but aint cheap, comes with certain caveats like dont run-in or idle for years on it.. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=2&pcid=21
  9. Never (ending rain)
  10. Sod the polytunnels, I want blue sky and sunshine! Not just absence of rain!
  11. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!! You haven't read about the problems with Husky's?!
  12. I've run out of words and emotions re the weather. It hasn't stopped raining here since the end of September, and surprise surprise its forecast wet and grey all next week too. I just can't get my head round it, it's just mad.
  13. :thumbup1:
  14. Flippin' Beauty :thumbup1:
  15. Miserable cusses hate castles
  16. Bunch of miserable hard-done-by jealous old farts on here! I was more on about the building than the owner anyway; it has history and character; perhaps those so afflicted and downtrodden by aristocracy up north should learn to be pleased for others; you'll develop less stomach ulcers yourselves. Take it you'll all be clapping if it fell into the river then?
  17. Very sour grapes there,
  18. Dearly hope this stays put! Didn't make much news in little England; I was in Aberdeen when it was all kicking off and the main road near it disappeared. Seems like they're getting somewhere with shoring it up. Imagine a whole castle falling into the river; the river was 40m (approx.) away previously! https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aberdeenshire/803605/video-time-lapse-footage-shows-heroic-effort-saved-abergeldie-castle-floods/
  19. Someone said to me recently in a text: "I think it best to batten down the hatches and spend no money..." Totally spot on. Hard, no fun, but has to be done. No good having assets instead of cash when you can't sell the asset: as a lot of timber contractors are finding at the moment.
  20. If the operator didn't pick so much off the stack in the first place, he wouldn't have to scat it all over the floor and double handle it, mixing in rubbish from the ground in the process. Feed the chipper little and often; very few operators do - they just ram it in there and then have to wait for the machine to get through it. Very inefficient. They should be seasoned forwarder drivers first!
  21. Incorrect. (it should have been the fourth letter)
  22. Perfect thanks Holy smokes, you posted that at 3am!
  23. You hand the invoice to the customer when the job is finished - on the dot (and assuming you kept your side of the written job spec in the original quotation). You do NOT give private / domestic clients credit facilites - period.
  24. Agreed. Plenty of two fingered salutes to them from the FCA too
