  1. Lol, young men naive enough to think the women find them attractive! They're gathering to laugh at you, not admire you!!! The other real reason the womenfolk arrange to have their freinds over is for snobbery reasons - i.e. "look what I can afford - professional tree service"...
  2. Licensed takers of PRL might well be able to after a duration - not many of them around tho!
  3. Why low ash? That's low sulphur (mineral per se) which you want for the pump? Low ash for emissions, not pump lubricity!
  4. Reckon you'll get away with a litre but bear in mind an o&f change within 3k. 15W is fine but 30 a bit thin on the hot end so 15W40 would give better engine durability. If sticking with mineral you want to go for Texaco URSA 15W40 SHPD Super TD if you can get it; it's a CH-4 rated oil which is v high end for a mineral and a 20L drum works out much cheaper than 5L here and 5L there of halfords this, duckhams that! Think I got my last lot from Watsons; delivered FOC; use it in tractors too.
  5. How much chain oil did you put in to top up? 15W30 too thin - which LR engine?
  6. PR Larch! Means Phytopthera Ramorum Diseased. You missed the PR off the bit you quoted!
  7. Nuts here, wind and rain is savage!
  8. 100ml into 25 litres; just a complete guess, could probably go lower. A quick google brought this up Reducing fuel consumption
  9. I love 2wd as you can turn on a sixpence; I actually prefer it to a 4wd when winching, water fill the front tyres or front weights yes. Amazing where you can get a 2wd in to...
  10. Yep, I put a drop of 2 stroke in the tank of the old 1979 JD for peace of mind...
  11. Quite - it aint in blue book! Grr!
  12. Going round in circles trying to find accepted weight of pop per m3 or vice versa?, thanks
  13. circa 10" long, 8mm dia steel skewers on the end of choker permits easier routing under log, through dirt etc...
  14. The only thing I can add is to make the drop into the splitting chamber as short as possible. When either the saw or blade has cut the ring, it wants to fall as little as possible to the splitting ram. This stops the piece upending - the most frustrating aspect of processors I find.
  15. Sycamore has a poor shelf life; left outdoors it "goes to sleep" aka mush.
  16. A new colour. Atleast for a while, the Mrs wouldn't think she was an Arbtalk widow when she spots maroon from her quick glance
  17. Time for a thinning methinks...
  18. Please PM me if you go ahead with selling the 242; I want it!
  19. Used to have a JB M500; the self propelled one (again see "wee chipper club" thread). Brilliant in their niche; chip throw suffers if blunt and anvil gap critical. Also consider the GTM and TP 100 as per [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNsG4qNJ_Dk]???????????? ??????? ???????????? TP 100 MOBILE 20km/h - YouTube[/ame] A T Osbourne for TP
  20. Got FMG Bruunett 578 and newer Timberjack 810 (both small); can put tractor and crane trailer in but not a fan of that setup tbh. PM on its way.
  21. Thanks PM box now got some space again; will pm now
  22. Yes can do. Both our forwarders are purpose built requiring low loader to site; you say a weeks work, what volumes are we talking? Thanks.
