  1. DOLMAR - PS-7910 78.5cc
  2. Has it got a ladder rack? If so, buy 3 sheets marine ply i.e. 8x4. Cut one board to the width of the trailer i.e. 5x4; this is the head board. The other two for the sides just cut two holes at the front tops and put a ratchet strap through and around the ladder rack. Instant chip box and folds down when empty. As per http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/6gG4usQ3Tso/maxresdefault.jpg Think the salvaged fence panel in the back is a bit crap lol
  3. If you want a dolmar from Europe these are the ones to buy from: pittpoint | eBay I do indeed import Dolmars from the US with the long term view on reducing import taxation (nightmare); until then they are the slightly lower price give or take a few quid to the ones from Germany. Different Mufflers and carbs in some cases but nothing much to worry about. The German ones from the above are CE marked whereas my ones obviously are not. Excellent service from above...
  4. Ford engine if I remember rightly? Seen one before.
  5. Blimey, did you watch the film 1984 today?
  6. Yes actually, I do... +1. Sick of hearing that unemployment has fallen! How they play with the figures! The reality is that hours worked are down; more employed people in PART-TIME positions! :001_rolleyes: You'd better ask... He the man. Simon Schama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I've sent Kitchen and carpet fitters from Gloucester, heating engineers from Bristol, Renault mechanic from Exeter and decorators from Dewsbury to my mother-in-law in Glasgow after I spent over 2 years trying to find decent tradesmen to achieve the above. £400 to paint a bathroon door and spent 3 months doing it; 10 minutes here, an hour next week - what's all that about? Nearly dragged a tracked Jensen from Plymouth to do her trees until I thankfully found Tim on here. I think the grievance is one way; when I'm visiting Paisley I hear the Braveheart rhetroic over and over and over. In south west england, folks didn't even know the Scots hated the English! We just don't give a monkies and that ignorance, whilst bliss in little England is deeply offensive to Scots. That is my worry too. Civil war. Back where we started; 1000 years rewound in a flash.
  7. Or Nigel Dunn Expect £1500/day??
  8. Absolutely blinkin bonkers Now we all know it's fooling around and stuff but full rpm while running between stems was a bit ott. Did me make me really tho and thought hey fisa get a load of this!
  9. Yeah they have. The whole lot will be winched up the hill and stuffed through the harvester. It's the way we do steep hills; not exactly hopping about like him but certainly just knocking over a few hundred in a day. Looks like he might be cutting a skyline pass to log out from. Knowing you don't have to sned or convert anything is quite motivating!!
  10. My thoughts exactly. Hell of a funny
  11. If you're talking vast swathes of conifer plantation you'd be mad not to; forestry showed 13% yoyrtn in a recent investment portfolio awards won by the Church of England who are buying it up big time! Smaller stuff; not sure but I'm it doesn't loose money but as above those figures per acre are inflated.
  12. Second that. Better than a TW190 but Jensens outchip it comprehensively.
  13. I've had Royal Marines huffing and puffing when helping out with tree work and saying how surprised they were at how hard it was. Yet they can go running for miles and I get out of breath reversing the truck! Increased aerobic fitness for me would permit less breathers when felling timber so higher productivity and yet when I first started hand cutting I was 4 stone lighter and way fitter and yet didn't cut anything like what I get done in a day now. The body gains strength tuned specifically for what it's doing in my case felling and converting softwood day after day. I'm sure there's a psychological aspect to it aswell; hoovering around the house knocks me for six
  14. Turns out the Perkins is as you say; a Navistar built under licence and pretty much identical to the cummins which replaced it (only option). Cheers.
  15. No compassion for those with overactive bladders or IBS then?. Catheter and leg bag for me. Once got caught short after delivering logs (pun int) in the middle of nowhere for a #2. Driving up concrete road (it was dark atleast), pulled over, dropped pants and hung off back of pickup i.e. feet on tow bar and hands on tailgate hooks to achieve best angle. I felt guilty for leaving such a humdinger 10"x2" by the roadside, this is too much information sorry,
  16. I am blessed with a mirror finish flat shed floor so movement is a p.o.p True on rougher ground it will be much trickier. You need to have the ram fully up, stand behind it and tilt it back and walk. Weighs best part of a quarter of a tonne so best to work round the splitter. It's mobile yes but solid build and easy movement don't go hand in hand often.
  17. Will send pm when I get a minute! Not really an arb contractor, do the occasional arb job but sometimes need climber / cutter. We are in PLY area. Edit: not looking at employing; self employed subbying only. I can think of one firm that might be employing tho...
  18. Sub Tropical just down the road! Blazing ball in the sky
