  1. Sweet! I'll take some for you tomorrow mate.
  2. I have a lock jack to swap mate. It's a couple of years old but in good order. Got 1or2 spare clutches for it I think. Not been used much at all as I went back to my VT almost straight away. Can send you pics if interested?
  3. Just a little lime reduction from today
  4. I hope you didn't break into a sweat there flower?! Haha
  5. Light tip reduction?
  6. Well so far so good. Gave it a good try out this morning removing some ivy out an ash.
  7. Yes mate,5mm wire with a plastic coating on it. Get it at b+q works a treat. Majestic-yeah no worries should hopefully have them by early next week.
  8. All done mate and samuel yours will be done as soon as I get some more shackles in :-) It worked out at 2.6m mate
  9. Very nice carl. I'm about 50/50 with OP. Some times there easy as all the rest and then the other times there a complete nightmare!! Inserting the core back into the cover during the second crossover is where I get the problem. It tends to tighten the cover up so much so you can't get the core through. The only advice I've got for when this happened is to just keep massaging the cover and a bit of shocking it. Not had any issues with the 10mm though. I tend to get the problems when splicing e2e's or when splicing onto a pinto. It's as though your running out of slack in the jacket?
  10. Yeah no worries bud. I'm hoping to get hammered my self too........I'll do your splice first though mate! Haha
  11. I'm old and crap now mate I don't have plans any more! Haha. I'll get it made this week then. I not be in at the weekend though. so I'll leave it somewhere safe on the back yard if that's cool with you,or I can post it to you? I'm easy either way.
  12. It's deffinatley spliceable mate. The only problem with the new England fly splice is that it's quite a big and ugly splice. Im happy to a crack at it though mate :-). Do you still want that ropeguide making mate? Just remembered about it! Haha
  13. I'm using the same rope with my cinch on a side strop. It seems to be working well at the minute mate. Bloody expensive lanyard though?! Haha
  14. Nice video dog tag. If only arborists PPE lines were that loose to splice! Haha. Thee video is for a class 1 double braid though mate. If I ever get my Samson splicing manual back I think I'm gonna give a class 2 whirl. Cheers for the info Bruce I think that makes sense? Haha How much rope do you lose for the splice?
  15. The 10mm isn't poly core yet mate.......I think? Would like to give a class 2 splice a go but with how much AP costs per meter I'd hate to balls it up! Haha. As Carl says the whipping needs work but not a bad lookin splice mate. Is there a final bury like in a class 1? As this is the part where the bagginess is eradicated? Having never done one I'm not sure how the splice is finished.
  16. Cheers mate. So far so good with the 10mm at the min. Not had chance to try it out as a single line yet but I'll report back when I have. Seems to run nice and smooth in the cinch though not sluggish like some ropes seem to be. I was using mammut supersafe previously and the AP seems to be on par.
  17. Bloody hell easier than original AP! I didn't think that was possible? Haha. I know what you mean about your scissors though bud. I bought a ceramic knife just for cutting that stuff. Makes life alot easier especially when you've got about 50+ e2e's to make! Haha. Is the poly version any stiffer or softer once the bury's are complete? I find if you go much shorter than 75cm the hitch becomes inaffective due to the stiffness of the bury's. How about you?
  18. Very nice work mate, looks very neat and tidy. Like you say the AP is awesome to splice. I'll hopefully be splicing some of the poly version up soon. How's it compare to the original?
  19. I like to carry mine like this
  20. Tall tree!! Nice work mate.
  21. Cheers chaps. Yeah the AP is a bit pricey for a lanyard but you have to treat yourself now and again! Haha. To be honest I just wanted to try a different rope on my cinch and thought the AP would work nice? As for the velocity I just like splicing that so thought I'd get some!? Haha.
  22. Here's a couple of lanyards I made this mornin for myself. The blue one is 10mm AP and the orange one is 11mm Samson velocity. The reason for the quick release shackle is basically I couldn't think of anything to do with it,so I thought I'd chuck it on the end of my lanyard so I can clip the end to my harness and daisy chain the rest to keep it all neat:-)
  23. I watched it on my iPhone mate so you must of done something?! Haha.
  24. Nice work mate, that looked a really wobbly bugger.
