  2. Very nice mate:thumbup1: Those rings are well smart!!!
  3. Synchronised topping!!! Love it:thumbup1: Looked a nice job mate!!
  4. Personally i think once you've had some experience using the saw and are comfortable with your positioning then go for it. I think the big difference is when rigging comes into play. Wheather or not thats correct i dont know?
  5. We were talking about this very thing the other day!! My input was that it doesn't state what size saw you can use in a tree!! You can take some big twigs out with a 660 and 36inch bar.
  6. Nice work John:thumbup1:,that last pic looked a close one!!! Like how the climbers poking his head round the trunk just to see if he'd sktittled you:001_tongue:
  7. Here's some more ive done and all whipping'd up!!!
  8. I was going to use a large splice like the primus, but the problem is you need to insert something into the splice to keep it open. Other wise retreival would be nightmare!! haha. Ive been using it all this week and im very impressed with it:biggrin:. Not bad for my irst ropeguide anyway!!! Hey mdvaden Brion toss has some videos on you tube and im sure Ropey on here has a link to some splicing vids. If i wasn't such a thicko id put a link up:blushing:
  9. very nice John:thumbup1:
  10. I wondered where id left my bloody saw!!.......................Its not Mozza and his new saw is it?
  11. Cheers mate!! It really is so satisfying being able to splice. I would highly recommemed it........bloody addictive though!!
  12. Cheers Bob. Really enjoy doing the double braids. Prefer them to the 16strands now:thumbup1:
  13. You know me and my splices!!!!.....thats just how many id managed to get done this morning, done another 5 this evening!.................god i need to get out more!!! haha
  14. Haha it was deffinatley a pain!! No worries though bud, anytime. Did you find your bank card by the way?
  15. I can just see him now rocking back and forth in a dark room trying to go cold turkey from arbtalk!!!
  16. Yeah i keep alot of tension in the eye. I need to get some better gloves for the bury on tachyon. I used some of those showa thermo's and they lasted about two minutes!!!
  17. I dont find tachyon too bad to be honest. I just stick with 5-4-4-5-4-4-5. When i stitch the crossover though i tend to make it quite tight so its a bit slimmer. I then try really hard to make sure it bury's without bunching up too much. Still lose my skin though!!
  18. Not yet mate, gonna do that later when ive got some feeling back in my hands!! haha
  19. Cheers chaps:thumbup1:
  20. Here's a few splices i did this morning and a rope guide i made last night. Hands are a little on the sore side now!! haha
  21. Cheers mate, there's cubby holes all over that van!! haha. The lads have to hide there snap somewhere!! haha
  22. Nice work Josh, they looked a fair old size!! Here's one i did this morning, didn't get a before pic im afraid.
  23. They look awesome mate:thumbup1: How long you been doing it?
  24. Unlucky mate!! You want to borrow one of our JCB's and we'll go to town on the post! haha
  25. Personally i'll try my hardest to flush them off but if i cant then i cut them as near as i can and leave them to it!! I usually find it the worst on Limes. Leaving a small stub isn't going to cause the tree any grief(especially after being topped) its just more of an appereance thing IMO.
