  4. Greece is just another victim in the struggle for global domination by America / Britain and the chosen few . Mark my words America will be falling out with China next . We were never going to drop the Pound for the Euro . We are all doomed anyway . Have a nice weekend That is unless your working like me
  5. I don't think that there is a deadline as such . Just don't cut them back to harshly . I also advocate Mick Stockbridges thinking of cutting them later in the year as this will reduce aphid damage in summer .

  10. It was brought to my attention on todays large conifer reduction . That there are not many if any ethnic minoritys doing tree work . The customer asked if I was aware of other tree surgeons from this back ground or indeed if I had ever seen or heard of any doing this work . I can only recall one from the london borough although his name evades me at present . Is food for thought though ?

  16. Standard with the GRCS tell me about it . I was thinking of tensioning the said limb and lifting out of the target area with a hand winch only in small pieces 80 kg max .Then also having a line attached to The portawrap for added security .
  17. I just need to get all the slack out the lowering line . Then use a tag line . We got rubbish DZ .
  18. Love it . I thought of that today
  19. Cool I might even try it on a takedown or two
  20. As title says . Me and another arbtalk member are currently removing a large ash tree . The last two limbs are basically straight out from the trunk. The anchor point is as high as we could get it. Just under the limbs there is a garage / sheds and a caravan ? Now i'm thinking of using a tirfor or a large braked hand winch so when timber is cut it can be then lifted out of the danger zone ie targets below . I,m thinking of tip roping then pulling up with the winch . Your thoughts please .
  21. We had an 18hp Briggs and Stratton fitted to our old 186 Vermeer stumpy. It ran great for years with regular servicing . Until some muppet decided to mess with the governor spring . Granted it was more powerful but died within 2 weeks . All good if looked after
