  1. Show the wife that picture. I'm sure she'll understand!
  2. Wow! Was it a straight fell, Cordwood?
  3. Good job TC. Ballsy felling the top out in that wind - precision!
  4. Hope this doesn't end up like Mr. Bullman's Arbtalk logo thread. If JJG gets involved your truck will end up looking like something Tim Westwood drives between gigs!
  5. I'm with Mick on reduction and price. Have you got a set of poles with a lopping head? If you haven't you can borrow mine for £140.
  6. Very nice mate. Loved the top gobs on the laterals and the way you cast the stem down in chunks instead of a load of unecessary lowering. Johnny Cash is the man. Thanks for posting.
  7. Been running my VT/HC set up with arborsafe crabs, and have had no problems, but if this little oval fella is going to make it even better then I think I better invest. Agree with JJG about conifers. Manky old rope and blakes come out for those. Apologies for my full participation in the derailment. I'm off to the bike sheds now for a fag.
  8. Well done mate! Is that Gumpy in the first picture with you after too much Guiness?
  9. Comfy. Quality lacing. Grippy sole. Light. And Gore-Tex lined 'cos I can't stand having cold, wet feet.
  10. How did you guess mate. Heli would have made it easy. Flying upside down...
  11. That's pretty cool the way those brackets have racked themselves up in really neat order. What's the crack John? Just monitoring carefully etc?
  12. JJG, read the books, man. I reckon you could then set about re-filming them but keeping them true to the original story. Blinding. I would be happy to play Bond. Or Oddjob.
  13. Finished topping now, thank God! (felling another 12 tomorrow:001_cool:) Thanks for the input fellas. Never again. Till I have no work...
  14. Nice. Don't want to come back and help out with my conifers then?
  15. Correctomundo. Whole chapter on it in the book. The books are much better than the films IMO. Bond is actually a bit of a ruthless, evil so and so. Very gritty and realistic.
  16. Work out how much time you spend above 6m during a working day. Think you might be surprised (unless you are a balls-out contract climber). The key thing is that the policy enables you to work above 6m, just not 24/7. Bit grey, I must admit. As stated, responses do vary depending on region. Maybe NFU have been bought out by the Yanks, and have different laws for different states.
  17. I might get one of these crabs for my VT set up, but not 2. I wouldn't know which way up I was.
  18. Watch it Dean. My Dad's bigger than your Dad.
  19. Watch it Mick. Rainham isn't that far away....
  20. Sorry mate, can't help, but have a related query. Does anyone know if you are meant to have your chipper ticket to be able to hire one?
  21. After 6 tons of the f**ckers I was happy every time I found a big ball of pigeon sh**e to break the monotony. Excuse my French, but this is clearly an emotive subject for me. Mick - you're right. If the job had been for slobs in a less salubrious environment the only thing I would have topped would have been myself!
  22. Aaaah! But why is it any different in use? Looks nice mind. Cost?
  23. You fellas have been watching too much Ray Mears. I like Leylandii sap, me.
